Noosa is a world-famous surfing destination, known for its expansive beaches and colorful bays. Hike across Noosa National Park's cliffs and forests, canoe through the Noosa River Everglades, kayak across the open sea or just bask in the sunshine on golden sand that stretches and sparkles for miles. Noosa National Park

Reviewed By sundaysap - Sydney, Australia

While visiting Noosa twice last year in January and June I did a lot of bushwalking through their pristine National Park. We have quite a few National Parks here in NSW but none of them compare to this stunning treasure. They were updating the walkways into the National Park when I was there in June last year, but I personally found their walkways were well maintained when I was there previously in January 2018. There is wheel chair access for the disabled and also well paved walking track for families with young children with prams and also the elderly. The best part of this pristine National Park walk are the beaches you come across on your way up which are Tea Tree Bay, Granite Bay and further into the National Park (depends on your fitness level) is the beautiful Alexandria Bay. And before you venture into this beautiful National Park make sure you stop into the Kiosk located at the information centre within the National Park, they make the best coffee ???? I have tasted in Noosa. Seriously a great pick me up for your long walk up into this pristine treasure. Absolutely loved it.

Fifteen minute drive (about 9.4km) from Tewantin centre to lookout carpark. Drive up mountain is mix of sealed and unsealed road, but in good condition. The 1km return summit walk from carpark is a good steady incline with steps and easy for someone with medium fitness. I saw some walking who were not so fit huffing and puffing but take your time and it's worth the views. The path is very easy to navigate and even if wet would not be slippery. Best 360 degree view I've seen with easy access in area. Even though views to east were hazy from bushfires, west was clear.

Lake Weyba

Beautiful lake, like a hidden treasure. We stayed in Peregian Beach, at Lake Weyba Noosa Lodge. Lots of kangaroos, cockatoos while taking a walk to Lake Weyba. Very shallow, clear, warm water; it feels like a big bathtub! Our accommodation provided a two-person canoe and two kayaks for free. There is a hidden creek, hard to describe, like a real-life wald-Disney experience, really serene and beautiful. What makes this also special that there are almost no other people because of minimal access. Highly recommend staying at the lodge and get back to nature.

If you are an overseas visitor to Australia, wherever you go, please make sure you drop by at the local Visitor Information Centres in every town and city you visit. Because these Visitor Information Centres are gold mines of information on the local attractions, day-tours, events, functions, happenings and lots more! And they can also help you to make bookings for tours and transportation, and their service is complimentary! It wasn't any different here, when I dropped by at the Noosa Visitor Information Centre during my first ever visit to this part of Australia. I traveled together with a friend and we wanted to visit the world reknowned Australia Zoo, and we had obtained a discount coupon upon arrival at the airport which gave us a 10% discount on the entry fee into the Zoo. The lady at the counter, I can't remember her name, looked up the options available on line for us to see if we could get a better bargain. We also needed to book transportation to the Zoo and back because we didn't hire any car during this holiday. In the end, she booked us return transportation tickets on board the Greyhound bus and we bought our entry tickets to the Zoo after arriving there, because there wasn't any better deal for the entry tickets. During the course of our stay in Noosa, we consulted with the staff of the Visitor Information Centre on several occasions to ask them about the local council's bus routes to the Eumundi Markets, to Tewantin, to the Noosa Civic Shopping Centre, etc. and all the staff here were always very helpful. Kudos to all the staff who work so hard to keep visitors happy! Well Done!!!

Everglades

Reviewed By Pioneer731035

An extremely pleasant way to spend the day apart from the rain... don’t sit at the front of the boat! Mostly young people who chose to canoe about 5 kms either up to our morning tea spot, from a wharf at the bottom of the river, or back to the same wharf. They don’t do both ways any longer as too many people don’t cope. We chose to not canoe at all and it gave us a bit more time to stroll through the lovely forest. Morning tea was on land under cover in the forest... tea or coffee made with hot water from thermos flasks, juice, cake and biscuits. Our lovely guide, Trevor, made sure to save some of the best chocolate covered cake for the group of canoeists who hadn’t quite arrived which I thought was a nice touch. The Everglades are beautiful. Silent gliding through black water with vegetation mirrored on both sides. The river was 20-30 meters wide and split into tributaries at some points. Easy to get lost, I would imagine, but all of our group made it up and back. Spotted 10 or so big fat pelicans relaxing on fallen logs at one stage. Trevor was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and also pointed out bird life and types of vegetation along the way. We returned across the big saltwater lake for a late lunch. Delicious roast pork (or a vegetarian option) served with spectacular crunchy crackling, roast pumpkin, coleslaw and plump juicy peas. We were impressed! There’s also a brewery on site so we had a very nice glass of lager and there was wine for the non beer drinkers. Altogether a lovely day out that we would thoroughly recommend.... even on a rainy day.

Hastings Street

Reviewed By Bing676 - Ipoh, Malaysia

I visited Noosa for the very first time together with a friend from Melbourne in the middle of December 2019. We stayed at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort which has an entry/exit point right on Hastings Street. Hastings Street is approximately 180 metres long from one end to the other, however, there are many eateries, cafes, ice cream shops, clothing boutiques, a Pharmacy, etc. on the street level and many accommodation options on both sides of the street above the shops. Because it was close to Christmas, the trees lining the street were decorated with lots of little lights which gave a feel of being in a fairy land! One can sit down with a cup of coffee, tea or a pint of beer facing the street and watch passersby all day and late into the evening, relax to the music of the live bands performing at various restaurants along the street on the weekends or just sit on one of the many public benches under the trees and enjoy the cool breeze that blows in from the ocean and the main beach. If you want to be active, you can go window-shopping or go for a jog on the boardwalk right on the main beach.
