We weren't expecting much, but the restaurant at the Hohe Salve summit at the top of the gondola from both Hopfgarten and Soll was stunning. The food was as expected for ski style cafeteria but the fixtures and decoration of the restaurant were lovely. There are large Windows with views to the Valleys below on 3 sides of the restaurant. On the day we visited the staff were very helpful and we didn't feel rushed by them to vacate the table.
Suggest a visit to the toilets. There is the usual Austrian perfect cleanliness and these toilets also have the most incredible views. Large windows with views to the surrounding Mountains. Also fitted out in solid timber doors with a lovely attention to detail.
We visited in June and it was misting rain and quite cold outside so this restaurant was a real surprise and a great way to spend an hour resting our legs after our hike.

The "Bummelzug Wildschoenau", a slow road train, brings you during the summer daily to the beginning of the "Kundler Klamm", a beautiful gorge in the Tyrolean Mountains with a magnificent natural landscape. The walk through the gorge is easy and a perfect destination for hikers of all ages. Even for strollers the track is no problem.

We used this way of getting round the valley on our recent visit to Niederau. It is an efficient way of getting around with hourly pick-ups. It is not the most comfortable ride ever and can be rather smelly from the Land Rover exhaust so my tip is to sit as far back as possible but then you are near the open back door. The tickets are 2.50 euros per single trip or 4euros return, but you can buy Day or Week tickets. The walk from Niederau to Oberau was very pleasant so we only bought separate tickets when we needed them.

The Austrians really know how to keep kids entertained, we found loads of great attractions for children and this was the highlight. Situated in a beautiful spot halfway up a mountain it has loads of water-based features and attractions. Our son loved it and we probably walked a good couple of miles without noticing it. It took a couple of hours or so for us to get round and he could easily have stayed longer. Plenty of nice spots to stop for a picnic.

The Place is easy to find and has a simple Ticketing and pricing system.
The property itself has free lockers and changing rooms and two restaurants which can be operated and used with a simple "watch" you get at the entrance.
The pools are big and well kept, there are several areas for children's and classes for babies. The main pool has hourly waves and the four waterslides are very good to raise your heartbeat.
They do have a dedicated pool for laps and an outdoors section if the weather permits. And a stunning Sauna part which has to be paid extra in the beginning.
All areas are wheelchair accessible.
Definitive worth a visit, well worth the price and a great way to relax and spend some time.

With the Wildshonau guest pass discount the entry to this museum was reasonable although some of the wood items for sale were quite expensive. This is a house with numerous small rooms made into a museum and more like a maze as you go through rooms and up and down stairs. Worth a visit if you're not skiing.

We have been skiing for 5 years now in Westendorf. This was the first time we have had a private lesson and it definitely wont be the last. His professionalism, relaxed manner and easy to follow advise made a massive difference to our ski experience. The tips he gave to help us made such a difference to our technique. For any ski trips in the future we will definitely be making a booking with him to brush up on any flaws. Best book early though as he is very good and will fill up quickly in season. His English was also fantastic which made the whole experience enjoyable. Highly recommended no matter how advanced you are.

It is incredible that this is the first review of the wonderful little Kundler Klamm gorge running from Oberau (Muhltal) in the Wildschonnau to Kundl on the (river) Inn. If it were longer it would surely be rated as one of Europes great natural tourist attractions. There is a gentle 2 mile walk in and then you enter the narrow, almost vertical, high walled Gorge to descend to Kundl with it's Bridges (of Madison County). As weather makes little difference its a great short day out on a poor day when you can also use the BumbleZug tram.
It's suitable for all ages - there's a good path through the Gorge so push chairs should be o/k, and a nice cafe just before the end. Don't miss it if you're in the area.

Im Rahmen einer Triathlon-Sportveranstaltung besuchten wir auch das Moorstrandbad Kirchbichl. Der Badesee ist relativ klein, aber sehr nett angelegt. Speziell für Kinder gibt es zahlreiche Aktivitäten.
Die Einrichtungen sind sehr sauber, nur waren leider die Liegewiesen mit vielen Zigarettenstummeln verschmutzt. Hier sollte ein generelles Rauchverbot im Bereich des Strandbades überlegt werden.
