Little Buffalo State Park

This is a State Park that I would highly recommend! There are so many charming features that you do not expect to find in a state park like the dearest running water mill, perfect backdrop for family photos and such an interesting find! There's also a lovely red covered bridge to see and walk through as well as an old caboose to climb on, again perfect for photos with your children! There's gorgeous flat easy walks with wide trails that the entire family will enjoy as well as adventurous rocky climbing/steep steps for those who want a bit of a challenge and adventure! All the trails that we have tried are gorgeous and a step above in quality and view! The lake is lovely, perfect for a quiet and peaceful canoe or kayak excursion! The boat dock is a picturesque spot to really get a good view of the lake and there's a little dock where one can sit on the edge with toes dangling in the water! I love this park and would highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice day out in nature with pretty things to see and enjoy!!

After reading an article recently promoting the working old fashion soda fountain, thought we'd stop for a mid-afternoon treat. To our disappointment, the fountain is closed and we were told it has been for some time. They apparently don't have anyone to run it.
If you are interested in flea market type items, this place was huge and seemed to have a variety. We were disappointed about not getting to have a treat at the soda fountain.

My Red Hat group has met here twice so far for lunch on a Saturday & expect to go back many times. They have a wide variety of wines, so no one goes home disappointed. A tasting of 3 wines is complimentary, but you can taste 3 more for $3. The lunch menu is limited to pizza, stromboli, calzone & a meat & cheese tray. Whatever you choose it will be delicious. If you are going with a group for lunch, it is a good idea to call ahead, otherwise you may have a longer wait than you like for your food.

I have visited here three times now and I am impressed every time that I do. What a wonderful center of the arts for the county- right in the center of Newport. Bring your wallet or purse cause you will most likely see something that you will want to take back home with you. There are 24 artistic disciplines on display by artists from all over the county. My are there some talented folks up here, and you can see some of their work all under one roof.

A redneck place that is uninviting. It looks like a dump from the outside, and is little better from the inside. It is rather dark. They are over priced too! Only a certain type of local comes here. Near a tattoo shop with weird folks hanging around outside.
