Reviewed By rayt-flaxin - Quincy, United States

If you find yourself in North New Hampshire and area looking for an easily accessible area to be able to enjoy and view first hand one of the most historically and geographically significant areas in the state, then i highly recommend you visit Franconia Notch. Between the Old Man on the mountain, the logging industry, the hiking and tourism, Cannon ski area, etc. There is a ton to see and do. Also, there are lots of viewing spots and picnic areas to pull off into.

Pemigewasset Overlook

Reviewed By mainemountainbear - Texas Gulf Coast, United States

This scenic overlook was in the White Mountains National Forest, on the Kancamagus Scenic Byway (NH 112), a short drive from Lincoln. Designated parking required proof of having paid a day use fee. Engaging displays interpreted local history and ecology; I only wished they’d been in better condition. Clean rest facilities were onsite. For mountain scenery, with views to the west and the south, there may be no better stop on the Byway.

Flume Gorge

Flume Gorge trail is temporarily closed for hiking until May 10, 2019 An 800-foot gorge that extends from the base of Mount Liberty. It is open from May 8 - October 25.

Reviewed By ddaltamura - Stamford, United States

5 of us did the flume gorge hike which includes the "pool", "avalanche falls", "liberty gorge" and "flume gorge" all along about a 2 or 2.5 mile hike. You can take a bus to bypass parts of it on the way up. It's a lot of uphill walking and the flume gorge part has a lot up stairs going up. The sights are really magnificent and worth seeing.

Reviewed By sabinej382 - Shawnee, United States

On a lovely fall day the Canterbury Shaker Village is glorious. The tour is comprehensive and informative. Each building represents Shaker life from long ago and over the years. The most lovely pond with beautiful trees in full fall colors is magnificent. There is a lovely walking trail and lots of places to sit. The food at the Cafe is rather good but pricey.

New Hampshire State House

NH's State House - with the oldest continuously used legislative chambers! Opened in June 1819! Home of the General Court of NH!

Full of nooks and crannies, this very old building exudes Yankee thrift and durability. Set amid the town, and not walled off from the flow of life, the capitol building screams New Hampshire. Live free or die!

Zimmerman House

This is the only Wright designed house open to the public in New England. Advance reservations are strongly encouraged as tour groups are small and tours fill quickly. Guests leave from the front of the Currier Museum of Art at 150 Ash Street and travel via motor coach to the Zimmerman House.

Reviewed By susanwinetasting - Putnam, United States

This house tour leaves from the Currier Museum in a small bus. On the way the docent explains the history of the owners, shows their prior home and the neighborhood. The house is a longer and narrow one, still completely furnished including personal objects and clothing. The docents take pride in their work and are extremely passionate about presenting this house. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend. Your ticket includes admission to the Currier, so plan your time accordingly.
