Acknowledged as the first museum in the world dedicated solely to collecting American art, the NBMAA is renowned for its preeminent collection spanning three centuries of American history. The award-winning Chase Family Building, which opened in 2006 to critical and public acclaim, features 15 spacious galleries which showcase the permanent collection and upwards of 25 special exhibitions a year featuring American masters, emerging artists and private collections. Education and community outreach programs for all ages include docent-led school and adult tours, teacher services, studio classes and vacation programs, Art Happy Hour gallery talks, lectures, symposia, concerts, film, monthly First Friday jazz evenings, quarterly Museum After Dark parties for young professionals, and the annual Juneteenth celebration. Enjoy Café on the Park for a light lunch prepared by “Best Caterer in Connecticut” Jordan Caterers. Visit the Museum Shop for unique gifts. Drop by the “ArtLab” learning gallery with your little ones. Gems not to be missed include Thomas Hart Benton’s murals “The Arts of Life in America,” “The Cycle of Terror and Tragedy, September 11, 2001” by Graydon Parrish,” and Dale Chihuly’s “Blue and Beyond Blue” spectacular chandelier. Called “a destination for art lovers everywhere,” “first-class,” “a full-size, transparent temple of art, mixing New York ambience with Yankee ingenuity and all-American beauty,” the NBMAA is not to be missed.

I've been coming here since I was a child. We love the donuts and usual leave with 2 or 3 dozen. All of the homemade pies and pastries are delicious. Cider available to purchase by the cup. Apples of course are always great and pick your own is a must!

We had a group of six, five of whom had never done one of these before. It was super fun, everyone contributed to the solution. I can't imagine doing this with a much smaller group, 6 felt like a good number. We thought we would make it without any hints, but in the last few minutes it became clear we needed help - we escaped with maybe 90 seconds to spare. We all agreed we'd like to come back and try one of the other rooms. We did the Cat Burglar room. We were there about an hour and a half in total.

My husband and I did The Book of Spells room for Valentine’s Day and had a blast. Challenging and clever clues, with really impressive quality props. Staff was super friendly. We liked that you could choose to have the room to yourselves (as opposed to being placed with strangers). We will definitely be back.

If you’re new to escape rooms, you should probably have at least 3 or 4 people for this room.

Walnut Hill Park

Reviewed By Robert C - Westbrook

Walnut Hill park is a beautiful place anytime of the year. The landscaping was done by architect Fredrick Olmstead who also landscaped Central Park NYC. The park once had a public swimming pool with a fountain at the center that doubled as a skating rink in the winter months. Today this area is a beautiful garden. The West side of the park has a hill perfect for sledding. The jogging and walking paths are all well maintained with exercise equipment stationed around the track. The rose garden is best in the early summer. It is a great place to exercise, enjoy a picnic or just sit on one of the many benches and relax. There is a WW 1 monument at the top of the hill. There is a shell concert stage that the city offers performances during the summer months. It is a popular spot for wedding photography.

The 'Res itself is a an easy walk, flat and always near the water with great views, lots of sky, free parking and not too challenging. It can also be used to reach the Heublein Tower from the south side following the MMC Trail (Metacomet-Monadnock Trail) Blue Markers or south on the same trail.

On weekends the lots get full(er) late morning to l=mid afternoon, so plan accordingly.

New Britain Stadium is a fun ballpark. Plenty of close. By parking. Nice staff. Comfortable seats with good views of the game. The concession menu was rather limited but almost e everything else about the park is great. The team plays in the independent Atlantic League and the quality of play is very good.
