Cape Farewell Horse Treks

Reviewed By Thegodwit - Nelson, New Zealand

We loved our two-hour trek through the water, on the beach and in the hills. We were carefully matched with the most suitable horses, given good information about the behaviour of horses in a group and felt safe at all times. The guides were encouraging and helpful to everyone in the group, and were friendly and good fun. A very professional environment with well-cared-for horses. We’ll be back! Nico and Jane

Wild oats farm transported unicorns to my little girls 5th birthday at Rabbit Island on Saturday ! The little ones were so excited to ride on the calm and gentle animals ! What a magical experience to ride Unicorns on the beach ! And we also had the backup of bad weather at Wild Oats barn on their amazing sounding native bush clad farm behind Belgrove !!! If you love ponies, horses and Unicorns these guys will sort you out !

Highly recommend for those who enjoy horses. We get to bring the horses in, groom them, saddle them up and then enjoy some warm up in the lovely big outdoor arena and then head off for a trek around Sharon’s beautiful farm. The sights of the nelson bay and mountainous backdrop is stunning ! Such a great experience - and so close to Nelson city. All the horses are so well cared for and Sharon and her team know how to teach you the right way to ride and ‘communicate’ with your horse for a happy and safe ride. A must do when visiting Nelson !

I recently enjoyed a wonderful trek along magical Marahau beach with 2 others and Leena as guide. We were so lucky to get the most glorious, sunny weather to enjoy the spectacular scenery and perfect peace and quiet of this part of New Zealand. The initial briefing ensures that everyone stays safe and is able to fully enjoy the trek. The horses are safe, well-schooled and very well cared for. Leena is calm and kind and ensures that everyone enjoys the experience in a safe and relaxed manner. Cannot recommend highly enough.
