Riverwalk

Absolutely love the riverwalk- There is an upper brick, lower concrete walk or jog you can take, I do most days along the river- Things to see, plants, flowers, fish, ducks, kayakers, diverse families, water fountains, covered bridges, occasional snakes, frogs, a solo heron. Great place for subrises or sunsets- No bikes allowed- It is lit so you can even walk at dusk- Lots of people of all ages, babies in strollers, on it- Early am more quiet and serene- There is a brand new playground west of the quarry. Clean bathrooms, accessibility to lots of restaurants. Paddleboats, kayaks for rent May to September plus a riverwalk cafe in season near rotary hill. You can walk up to the top of the Carilllon and see the entire area from above during certain weekend hours as well.

Naperville Historic District

Reviewed By Toyota1994 - Chicago, United States

Naperville Historic District in downtown Naperville is a great place for recreation. Naper Settlement serves as the main historic underpinning. The settlement has restored historic buildings moved to this historic museum from different places in Naperville. Areas adjacent to Naper Settlement are thoroughly enjoyable with various opportunities for recreation. The Riverwalk which straddles both sides of the Du Page River is a lovely place. The Quarry lake provides opportunity for boating and fishing in season. The pedestrian bridges across the river are beautiful. The Moser Tower is another unmissable attraction. All in all, a visit to Naperville Historic District will be fully enjoyable.

Great place to visit for an hour or a day. Part of the Naperville Park District. There are kayak rentals available some times. Kayak a few miles up and down Du Page River West Branch to the confluence with the East Branch and beyond. Lots of wood chip hiking trails and paved biking trails to various spots along the river. Impressive indoor facility and park, and plenty of parking.

Hollywood Palms Cinema

Reviewed By rexstout

Sit at home, watch a movie, and munch on goodies while in your favorite chair. Sound familiar? Well, that's the experience at Hollywood Palms except your food is prepared for you and brought to you by the experienced servers and your easy chair is plush, comfortable, and like a Lazy Boy in being adjustable so your feet can be propped up. But the kicker is the movie you are watching is a current film on first release, not something that came out years ago. The theater is at the far south end of an extended shopping strip mall. There is ample parking with entrances to the north and south ends of the building. A ticket booth is inside between the entrances, You see there is room for folks who want to have a nosh before or after seeing a movie, and there are tables and chairs for them. A bar serving various drinks is nearby. There is a passage that takes you to the various mini-theaters showing the individual films where there are the rows of seats available. Note: you can pick your seat when you buy your ticket either on the day of the showing or in advance. This is a convenience when the movie you want to see is very popular. One complaint I was told, but did not experience: the movie's sound level is pitched high. So ear plugs for the sound sensitive might be a precaution. But we did not have a problem. The food is generally good for the setting. Don't expect anything that's going to be honored with Michelin stars. Just good ordinary comfort food from your neighborhood diner. Washrooms are clean and close at hand in the lobby area.
