Nakhon Pathom (Thai: นครปฐม, pronounced [náʔkʰɔ̄ːn pā.tʰǒm]) is a city (thesaban nakhon) in central Thailand, the former capital of Nakhon Pathom Province. One of the most important landmarks is the giant Phra Pathom Chedi. The city is also home to Thailand's only Bhikkhuni temple Wat Song Thammakanlayani (วัดทรงธรรมกัลยาณี), which is also open to women from abroad.

This is a superb temple and well worth the visit. We spent a scintillating afternoon there.The chedi is both magnificently beautiful and soul enhancing.There are a range of structures to visit and stories to hear related. Our guide was very well informed. The overall feelings that filtered through to me on the afternoon were benevolence and compassion. So all in all this is an inspiring place to visit and one which looms over and casts its kindly light over the entire city of Nakhon Pathom.

The "palace" is actually a huge area of several "residences" of Rama VI, who ruled Siam from 1910 until his death in 1925. Rama VI, who was known for advocating "Thainess" and Thai nationalism, weathered criticism and coup plots from military elements that were impatient with the slow pace of "modernization" and advocated increased democracy. He was also criticized for the opulence of the residences at Sanam Chandra.
The beautiful shaded grounds are a favorite spot for locals for jogging and walking in the afternoon and evening (hundreds of people!). The grounds can be visited for free (after 4:00 p.m.) and provide a wonderful area for relaxed walking and recharge (after 6:00 p.m., visitors have to sign in and out of the grounds, but the process is simple). There are some restrictions on where people can wander, but officials and security staff are friendly.
One of the more interesting structures on the palace grounds is the Phra Tamnak Chali Monkol-asna, which is a 2-story building constructed in European-castle style architecture, beautifully colored in caramel-yellow and brown, with roof tile in red. In front of this structure is a cast statue of Rama VI's beloved dog, Ya Lei (sometimes written as "Jarlet"). The dog was born in a prison in Nakhon Pathom and adopted by Rama VI. It became such a favorite of the king that it even became the target of envy and was eventually shot and killed by a detractor.
Sanam Chandra Palace is a good place for visitors interested to learn more about Thai architecture, history and culture.

I really adore this place... there's a famous braised duck restaurant called Nai oou restaurant within the market... food is affordable and yummy.. and you get a nice view of the river! Overall.. the place is great to visit... still pretty much uncommercialised!

This was my 2nd game in 6 months. A very new golf course that provides a unique experience starting from the Locker room. The lockers are enabled with RFID and the toilets and bathing facilities are spacious and modern. The green fees include a buffet breakfast and a concierge is at hand to remind you of your tee time. As you leave the restaurant, the buggies for your flight are lined up parade style with caddies standing next to the buggy to welcome you. Next, the caddy will drive you to the practice green until your tee time is due. The course is a new concept of every 6 holes making up of 2 par 3s, 2 par 4s, and 2 par 5s making a total of 6 par 3s, 6 par 4s and 6 par5s.. At the end of each sixers, there's a refreshment kiosk for drinks and snacks which you can partake for free as its covered in the green fees. The course itself is in excellent condition and its a joy to see that the caddies are strictly following good golfing practices of repairing divots and pitch marks, ensuring that the course is in good condition. Caddy tips have also been covered in your green fees, so at the end of the game, there's a buffet lunch awaiting you again covered by the green fees In all, it was a great golfing experience.

This is a great and colourful market, with some wonderfully cheap finds.
Make sure you hire a boat for not more than 100 (a hundred) Bahts (they will ask you for 3000...) and get a "guided" tour of the market.
While the market IS a nice place, I'm not sure it's worth the cab drive from Bangkok (time and money), but in any case, never agree to pay the initial price asked.

This experience was one of a kind. We traveled for 2 hours, waited for the others for another hour but its worth it. Though the stay was only short, we enjoyed going around and taking pictures especially for a nature lover like me. I didn't see all what's in that zoo but I loved what I saw.
