Nainital is famous for its “Naini Lake”! It is amazing that that within a 25sq km area, there are many lakes in this region, Bhimtal, Naukuchiyatal, Sattal etc. This lake was explored by a Britisher and a settlement was made beside it. It is since long become a favourite holiday destination for people across India and also round the globe. The Nainital town is situated around the Crescent shaped lake. Boating is famous in this lake and is enjoyable in the cool breeze of the water.

Located in mallital, one should come here and take the blessings of goddess naina devi when in Nainital. It is open till late evening hours and is a popular shaktipeeth. Small market selling winter clothes, candle items etc is available just outside the temple premise. Boating facility and movie theatre is also there near the temple.

This was a recommendation by our hotel GM, and despite a little difficulty finding the start of the hike it was a fairly simple hike. Simple in the footing - the altitude made it fairly strenuous. We absolutely loved it, and the views at the top make it all worthwhile!!! You have a clear view of almost 360 degrees of the Himalayan Mountains, including clear views of Nepalese peaks.

Reached early in the morning. Had brushing & bathing at a Paid Bath/toilet facility. Hot and tasty breakfast available at Maruti restaurant nearby. Reasonable cost. People are generally helpful. Mountainous area. Generally a cold place. Even in the day time, require 2 sweaters. Nainital is nearby within 1 hour. Travel by bus or share vans/cars, etc. There are many places of religious importance to visit in this area. No proper stay arrangement available in Kanchi Dham. Stay at Almora or Nainatal. Trip was pleasant.

Very poorly maintained with stairs that are a menace. Trashy with pathetic signage saying not to litter. No signage in English. Not worth the trip. My wife is Indian and the little signage does a very poor job of giving background and historical information. Who ever runs the temple complex should be ashamed.

From 1-3-2018, the tickets for the zoo (near tallital) is Rs.100/-. There are very few animals compared to other zoos in India. The place is well kept but the price is too much. Moreover, one has to hire a taxi (Rs.40/pp to and fro) to reach the zoo (located at an altitude of 200 mtrs from mall road). Can give it a skip if less time.

The Eco cave garden is about one kilometre away from the Mall Road.It has 6 small caves with the forms of tiger, panther, porcupine etc. Walking down the Garden stretch, stumbling upon an underground cave that resembles wild forms and crawling ones way through them would definitely make for an exciting, fun-filled and informative trip for children and adults alike. Famous for its inter connected rocky caves, hanging Gardens and the musical Fountain. In the evenings one can see the spectacle of the musical Fountain with various audio video effects.It remains open from9:30 AM to 5:30 PM.The entry charge is Rs.20 for adult,Rs.10 for children and for still photography camera charge is Rs.25.

This is good spot for viewing Himalayan ranges but it is very risky and difficult to reach this spot. You have to trek or take a horse to reach here. Both are very difficult and risky. Not at all safe. In case you are interested in horse riding that you can do at any other place. Don't take risk at this spot. Walking is very difficult as no proper path is laid you need to climb big stones. Totally adventurous not fit for ladies , senior citizens and kids. This place was made by British officer in the memory of his beloved wife Dorothy. You need to very careful with horse as sometime they go totally uncontrolled . Take horse with his guard don't go without horse guard for each horse. Sometime they will take 2-3 people with only one guard for three horse. though the view is mesmerizing from the top. But not worth the efforts and money. Two three small stalls are selling chips, tea and magi at the spot. You get horses from the Suicide point . My advise visit only if you are adventurous and dressed appropriately.

The place is located 15-17kms from the hustle-bustle of Nainital and is surely a must visit. You can trek to a stream and shiv temple roughly 1km from Pangot to find a beautiful stream or travel in a vehicle to far off places such as villages which are 16kms from Pangot and would require a full day trek. If trekking far, make sure to hire a guide because its a complete jungle area and even a single wrong bend can drift you far off. Also, the signals are nearly absent at Pangot, but are intermittent in the jungle area. Moreover, the view of Himalayas from the jungle is splendid and one can spot birds in Kilbury forest nearby really early in the morning. Also, don't forget to keep ample cash because no other form of monetary transfer is possible in Pangot.
