This was our second visit of this museum and we were as impressed as we were the first time ! The presentations are very explicit , the pictures are quite clear and even if this is a very sad topic , one senses that the message conveyed is not one of hate nor acrimony but one of peace and hope . The museum was full of tourists , students and Japanese citizens and yet it was very quiet !

There were numerous Islands on the sea of Sasebo city. It is considered that it have the highest Islands density in Japan. I took an excursion boat to see those Islands on the sea. In addition, I visited two gazebo. To be honest, I felt it is better to look Islands from gazebo than a cruiser. There were many many Islands. When I took a cruise, I looked few Islands at same time. From a gazebo, I could look a lot of Islands at same time. very beautiful view.

The animal at the Nagasaki Biopark re not 'on display' but are instead living as far as possible as they would in the wild. Nagasaki Biopark's breeding style is 'ecological display' ever since we first opened. Here you can touch and feed a lot of animals directly. Naturally, the reason you can touch and imteract with lemurs, squirrel monkey, capybara and so on is because there is no boundary line between you and the animals. The park is specifically designed to replicate as closely as possible the environment and ecosystem the animals are living in originally. Thus, you can see the animals living naturally and freely here.

Our family visited the Bio Park and had a great time. They have a shuttle bus which picks up from Huis Ten Bosch and you can then catch a regular bus right outside to travel to Nagasaki, very convenient. We had so much fun feeding all the animals. Having the monkeys sitting on you was a highlight. Also the Paws area was alot of fun, chilling and playing with the dogs also paying the rabbits etc. Highly recommend

I have never seen such a stunning scenery. A white lighthouse on a hgh cliff.
I did not have time so coud not go to the lighthouse but may be interesting if you do not mind one hour walking (or climbing rather). Highly recommendable.
It takes one hour by car from Fukue port. The nearest bus stop is one hour walking away and number of buses is limited so you need to ride on a sightseeing bus or have a rental car.

We had a great day which started with hiking one of the nearby Mountains, then walking down to the various Jigoku at ground level. Really amazing to see the bubbling-hot water come up from the ground. There are various trails that you can take, which allow you to view all of the different Jigoku. Allow a few hours to walk around at a leisurely pace.

It was raining quite hard, so it was a wonderful place to escape to - to relax, to enjoy the rain, and even to soak up a little of the simplicity & beauty of the place ... it was perfect, just to take a moment to breathe deeply. Our lovely host took the time to serve us some delicious green tea (made from using the spring water) and chatted about the house and it's unique garden. She explained the different concepts - the front garden is considered to be "yang"; lively and colourful (with multi-coloured carp), while the back garden is "yin"; quiet and simple (so, even the carp are all just black).
Quite a few visitors came, they took their photo's and went whilst we were there ... the place is free ... yet, it's disheartening to notice that no one offered up any donations to take care of such a beautiful place.

大正4年から3年の歳月をかけて、信者達の手によって建設されたロマネスク様式の 荘厳な赤レンガづくりの教会でした。教会の傍らには歴代の信者が眠る墓地があり、辺り一帯の風景は外国の地を感じる風景だったり、ステンドグラスが印象的でした。

There are many beautiful areas in Japan, but Monkey Rock is one of my favorites. The beauty here is in it's untouched majesty, it's quiet repose, and it's stunning views. The best way to enjoy Monkey Rock is to pack a lunch, bring a blanket, your camera and a good book, then just relax and spend the afternoon enjoying the breathtaking beauty of God's creation. You can hike around the area, but the best view is when you first drive up and see it. Stunning! Amazing! Many people drive up, jump out, take a picture and leave, but don't rush this, relax and take it all in! This is nature at it's best! (Note: There is a small gift shop in the parking lot, but if you want to eat, you need to bring your own picnic! Have fun! )

I didn't find the Peace Memorial Hall for the atomic bomb victims as emotional as Hiroshima, but it is a place of peace and quiet reflection and is a fitting memorial to the victims of the atrocities that happened in their city. Outside is a symbolic pool which is lit up at night with 70,000 lights to recognise those initially lost when the bomb went off. What happened in both Nagasaki and Hiroshima should never be allowed to happen again. I was shocked at the depth of emotion I felt at visiting both sights. Everyone should go to be reminded of the horrors of nuclear war.

Thanks to the weather, we could enjoy such a peaceful time looking down Kujuku-shima while some hawks flying in the blue sky in font of us. It was a very unique view with many little Islands floating on the ocean and a couple of sightseeing boats go around those Islands.
We only walked a few minutes to get the top of the observation platform from the parking and there was a pretty cosmos garden in between. It is definitely worth the time to visit.
