I went here with my family in 2014. we are English with a Japanese daughter in law. the tour was free and they provided us with an English speaking guide. The guide was excellent and pleased to be able to use her English. the tour was really informative. at the end of the tour we were given some beer to try in and they had laid the table with English and Japanese flags a really nice touch! I would definitely recommend.

Kirin Beer Toride Factory

After a short train ride (180 yen, one stop) from the central Nagoya station we took a free shuttle provided by Kirin. The beer park provides a free tour that lasts about 2 hours. It explains the history of Kirin beer, and the brewing process. The tour guides do not speak English. But a simple hand-out is provided that you can use to easily follow along. Not to reveal too much, but it was interesting to learn Kirin was orginated by an American. The best part of the tour ended with several free samples of your choice (non-alcoholic beverages too, if you so wish). However, due to the 2-hour limit (and they are always on time), it was a bit of a rush to leisurely taste them.

Great place for a day trip! The grounds are large, and the exhibits are beautiful! The museum is large enough that even though there are many children, it is still possible to find a space where you can enjoy the vistas with your friend / significant other. Affordable as well, would definitely recommend to my friends.

I come to this park only for the fireworks in July. Get there early, like the day before to claim a spot. This is the best place to view the fireworks. There are bike trails and lots of ducks and swans. Good place to have a picnic too. Great for families with small kids and joggers. Enjoy.

Akebonoyama Park

Reviewed By zbujenka - Tokyo, Japan

If you are feeling adventurous and need some change from all the traditional Japanese Gardens, hanami parties, etc. - Akebonoyama Park's tulip garden is something worth seeing, especially during the Tulip Festival (makes things a bit livelier). There's not much more there to see for a tourist, apart from a nice temple, but it is nice if you want to spend some time breathing fresher air and relaxing.
All in all it is a nice half day's trip from Tokyo. Especially for families (picnic and 'agriculture') and couples (romantic flowers and cute photo opportunities). One thing to have in mind, though: if you don't have a car, you'll have to ride a bus from the train station (they accept pasmo/suica) and there's going to be a crowd on the bus during the best season.
