Moonee Ponds Creek Trail

Reviewed By platypus150 - Melbourne, Australia

Today I was walking around the Essendon and Pascoe Vale South area, where the wild parts of the river were left alone when much of the creek became an open drain to make the freeway easier to build. Garden plantings were in bloom and the path seemed well built and well maintained.

Travancore Park

Reviewed By 619jeffry - Essendon, Australia

Travancore is named after a district in South India, and many street names have an Indian influence. Travancore is an inner suburb of Melbourne, it's 5 km (3milles) north-west of the city centre. The suburb is Heritage listed, but apart from the period houses, Travancore Park is its best feature. It runs along Moonee Ponds Creek and has an recently upgraded path for pedestrians and cyclists. The playground is good for youngsters. Some facilities are named after one of Travancore's best known residents, Arthur Calwell, who was leader of the ALP in the 1960s.
