April 5, 2022 Emerita Lamoureux

Magical Mooloolaba is the perfect combination of sophisticated serenity and vibrant energy. The beach gleams under the pulsing sun, and sparkling sapphire water beckons swimmers, surfers, bodyboarders and casual waders alike. Snorkelers and jetskiers will delight in the beautiful waters, while those who prefer even racier adventures can dive with sharks and mingle with undersea creatures. Plus, "Mooloolaba" is awfully fun to say.

Mooloolaba Canal Cruise

This highly popular cruise aboard the historic timber ferry MV Mudjimba has been operating on the Sunshine Coast from the Mooloolaba Wharf for 30 years. During this relaxing, still-water 1 hour cruise, you will see opulent waterfront mansions, yachts and historic landmarks, while listening to a live and informative commentary. Children get to take the helm alongside the Skipper for a great hands-on experience and photo opportunity. (Restricted during COVID 19). You will see wild pelicans being hand fed from the side of the boat, then feed the fish at the end of the cruise. It is a great experience for all the family, and considered a "Must Do" on the Sunshine Coast. We run three cruises daily. (Days of operation change throughout the year so please check our website or call us to check availability). “Cruise & Dock” Lunch Combo Option. (see website for details). Group/Bus Tour Bookings and Private Hire for Functions available on application. Fully BYO. Toilet on board.

Point Cartwright

Whilst in lockdown in Mooloolaba we normally visited Port Cartwright beach at least once a week. Easy to find from Kawana Shopping Mall, just follow the signs from the main road to the boat ramp. Near the main car park at the end of the road is the only "coffee stop" which is always busy but closed on a Monday. A very nice walk from the car parking areas along the river to the estuary with views over the marina, fishing boat docks and towards Mooloolaba beach. Flat and even with some seatingvareas. After 4pm dogs are allowed off leash so we avoid that time as it becomes very busy with dogs running along the footway with their owners. Needless to say some are better controlled than others. At the end of the Spit, when the tide is out, lots of rock pools etc. Dogs are allowed off leash in this area all the time. Lots of great views, plenty of bird life including Ospreys, a very nice walk....before 4pm.
