Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary

ALL VISITS REQUIRE AN APPOINTMENT. Please contact the sanctuary for scheduling. Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary is dedicated to rescuing and caring for non-releasable wolves and wolfdogs, providing them with a stable, loving, and exceptional home, with an abundance of loving and compassionate care. We provide all of our animals with regular, balanced, nutritious meals; exceptional veterinary care; safe and comfortable sources of shelter; frequent enrichment; and, when appropriate, human or canine companionship. We do not buy, sell, or breed any animals. We also support educating the public about issues involving wolves and wolfdogs, and dispelling the many myths that surround these frequently misunderstood animals. Through guided on-site tours, visits from ambassador wolfdogs, off-site presentations, and other outreach avenues, we provide accurate, engaging information about wolves and wolfdogs, conservation issues, and the downsides of exotic pets.

Great facility. Suggested donation is $10, and all proceeds are going to buying new land. No one is tunres away if they cant pay or if they pay a bit less. The guide was very knowledgeable and was able to answer all questions. She also had great anecdotes about each and every animal. It was worth the terrifying July Texas heat - plenty of shade. The place was clean and well maintained. The animals are clearly cared for, and that is what matters the most. I will absolutely be going back when the weather is cooler to experience a howl night! Online reservations are a MUST - and it fills up quick so don't wait!

Had a great couple of hours walking through examples of early Texas history in the forms of early dwellings, farm buildings and implements, much from before Texas independence. Worth a visit.

Nice little authentic working farm just off the road in the woods. Lots of animals. Goats, pigs, donkeys, chickens and roosters. Rabbits, a friendly dog, ducks, geese. Our young twins loved seeing the animals and walking around the garden. The lady in charge showed us the garden and gave the kids small samples of the fresh vegetables right out of the ground. Overall was a nice fun time on a nice day, we will be back. Got some of the home-made soap and lotion as well.

This is a place of business, but you can visit any time, Mon-Sat to view beautiful vintage cars that have been restored or are in the process of being restored. A small place but the employees were happy to see us and answer any of our questions. Very interesting, especially if you like old vehicles.

We've visited a variety of animal refuges over the years. The caregivers and volunteers were very knowledgeable and the property is well maintained. We went just to see, but loved it so much that we will comeback to volunteer. Our future definitely will include wolf dogs!

Can't remember the name of the place but I had purchased fishing vouchers on living social and we went out with Captain Craig for a fun afternoon catching catfish. Address 13260 FM 1097 , just across the bridge and across the road from a gas station. They had cute little cabins to rent as well. Wish I remembered the name of the business because they do deserve a shout out as Craig was a great captain and made our day enjoyable and entertaining.
