If you're in Monteria, this is the place to be! The walkway traces the shore of the Sinu River, and has several routes to follow. The many trees provide excellent shade from the hot sun, and also provide a habitat for the local monkey population. If you bring some fruit, you can feed them and get a close look. There are also a lot of iguanas wandering around.
I've noticed vendors along the path selling jewellery, shoes and various knickknacks. Another incentive to linger are the little cafes and dessert places along the path. In the evening there are lots of locals taking a stroll, and the path is close to many local shops and markets.

Monteria has few places where you can wander and still escape the heat. I like to visit Alamedas because I can hide from the sun and also buy products that are harder to find in other parts of the city. I can't say that it's the most amazing mall that I've ever been to, more that it's a handy refuge in a city that has few of them.
I also go here because there are a couple of restaurants that offer some healthy, vegetarian options, and because Alamedas has one of the two movie theatres in town. The theatre isn't as nice as the one in Buenavista, and the showings are more limited, but I find the price cheaper (wahoo!)
I've also noticed that Alamedas offers the occasional special event. The most recent one that I stumbled into was a kids' fashion show.

Nice to see an old church so well maintained. Its in the park center. A couple of cafes nearby. Lots of people.

We stayed very close to this mall and went several times for meals. Also we visited at Christmas time so we did some shopping. There was quality shops big and small, it was clean and service was pleasant

Welcoming town in spite of the city's dreadful Heat. The boulevard along the River is Just gorgeous. There we found by accident this couzy bar, named Kraken.Our host Constantine endulged us with marvelous fruit cocktails made with exotic fruits, Such as lulo and starfruit. We were very surprised to find so many locals enjoying Nirvana orden the strokes.
