This was our first snowmobile experience. We have ridden our motorcycle to 47 of the lower 48 States, with over 750,000 miles in the saddle, so I was pretty sure this was within my abilities. I made our reservation on line, & Lois from Swan Mtn called to follow up to insure we had all the bases covered. We elected to take the clothing option as we were flying in. We brought our base, silks & thermals with fleece pants & vests. Wish I had bought my motorcycle gloves instead of the ski gloves I did bring, oh well. We arrived on time for our half day guided tour, Hannah got us fitted with outer clothes & helmets & lead us to the trail head. There we met Cooper our guide. Hannah reviewed the operation of the sled & safety issues. Cooper selected our sleds, told us about the trail & off we went. The trails were challenging to me as a newbie, especially not counter-steering like the motorcycle. I spilled us twice due to not carrying enough speed through 2 turns, but Cooper was right there to pull us up & get us going again. This was our first time on a sled & after 30-45 minutes I got the hang of it. So what does it boil down to? Cooper, our guide, did a fantastic job of gearing our speed to our slowest rider but still kept it challenging for me, nothing like the need for speed even at 64! He was right there when we needed him, & his instruction built my confidence. I was comfortable with a very tight, 3-Point turn without getting off the machine. The downside, time went by too fast! Next time a full day. Great job by Cooper & Hannah. As a first timer I would not hesitate to suggest my children ride with the Swan Mountain gang!

This was absolutely the highlight of our trip. It was a great ride. It was exciting to see all the dogs. There are over 130 dogs and the ones that didn't get to go were disappointed. Watching the dogs work was wonderful. They can grab a mouthful of snow on the dead run. The ride is comfortable and warm. Just seeing all the dogs was a treat but the ride far exceeded my expectations. This is a must thing to do if you are in this area.

Three couples from Florida visited Jack’s Rich Ranch this past week for a snowmobiling adventure. We had a great time snowmobiling for the first time and exploring this beautiful winter wonderland! The equipment was provided for a small daily rental fee so we didn’t have to over pack for our trip. The cabin was roomy, warm and the beds and pillows very comfortable. The three couples enjoyed our cabin facilities that even included a full kitchen. The snowmobile trails were well groomed and our safety was Jack’s top priority. He gave an excellent safety orientation regarding the equipment before we started on the first day so we all felt comfortable. There was always a guide at the front of our group and a guide at the back of our group to make sure we didn’t have any problems. Everyone felt very safe the entire trip. After our morning rides we would stop for lunch at the local resturants for some delicious meals. The snow was magnificent and the scenery unbelievable! We started every morning with a hearty breakfast and ended every night with a delicious dinner which included fabulous desserts. Jack’s hospitality made us Floridians feel like family. This is an all inclusive package which is hard to find when you are looking for resorts so we never had to carry money along on our rides. If you are looking for a great snowmobile adventure I highly recommend Rich Ranch. We will definitely be back again as Jack now calls us family! Kay and Marty Mikulas Ft Myers, Florida

Cannot brag enough! Sam was a wonderful, down to earth, very informative guide! She not only provided a wealth of information about the park, animals, and its geology, but provided resources as well. Her passion shined through. She did her best to provide us a quaint and personal experience that I will never forget. Winter in Yellowstone is an absolute must! The minimal crowds, multitude of wildlife, and contrasting thermal features with snow is truly majestic! We booked a trip to the powder hut for a birthday celebration and had one of the best trips, we are still talking about how fun it was. We had 6 of us in the hut, and loved getting to hang out with our guide Sam, who was so knowledgable about the area and kept us safe and showed us the best terrain to ski. The snow was deeep and the area around the hut is breathtaking with views of the Centennials. We can’t wait to go back again to explore more.
