It does not worth it at all, it is a military compound with not very much to see - You better off travelling a bit further south and visit liguria or toscana near the see. Turin area has nothing to offer, looks like a run down industrial city. Wasted time for us...

Moncalieri

The walk from the train station is not clear but when you find the Piazza Maggiore and the church of Santa Maria della Scala, it'll be worth your while. The church is restored in such a way that the simple lines of it's medeival structure shows it's Baroque altar to the greatest advantage. There you'll also find an amazing Pieta from the 14th century. The Castello Realle was closed after the 2008 fire on my visit but the views from the surroundings were expansive of the local hills. The Porta Navina and the view from the bridge over the Po of the castle are also worth seeking out.
