Fantastic views of Modica. This place is worth the climb from Modica Bassa. I've done the steps to the top many times in the past but I had my Dad drop us off at the top this time. We decided to go up during sunset to enjoy the beauty of the city. We then made our way down by foot through the narrow streets of Modica Alta. While you're at the top you'll notice a little bar behind you. They serve drinks, beer, food and of course the famous Modica Chocolate. They even have free samples which my daughter simply loves. Make sure you check out their beautiful meat slicing machine. I need one of these. Do not miss this amazing view from the top of the mountain. Sunset is a popular time to take in the sites plus it's cooler then midday. After taking in the sites, you walk down the mountain and think about all the amazing food you'll find at the bottom of Modica.

The Gothic portal is a marvelous example of Sicilian gothic. One of the few remains of Medieval Modica. A fascinating example of rediscovered artistic treasure.
