Mira Mesa is a community and neighborhood in the city of San Diego, California. The city-recognized Mira Mesa Community Plan Area is roughly bounded by Interstate 15 on the east, Interstate 805 on the west, the Los Peñasquitos Canyon on the north and Marine Corps Air Station Miramar on the south. Most of the community plan area is referred to as Mira Mesa; the community plan area also includes the neighborhoods of Sorrento Valley and Sorrento Mesa.

Favorite place for watching the seals and sea lions. At high tide in the evening, the sea lions will come up HIGH on the rocks, and you can literally get 10' away from them, but don't get too close! The place smells like sea lion, but that's part of the fun.

Me and my wife took a trip to San Diego "unfortunately during the bad storm" and were kind of stuck at the Marriott La Jolla. We wanted massages and hotel did not have a spa so we yelped places and found this place.
Was not a far drive at all. (10 min easy drive) I called to make apt for couples massage and they got us in that night within about 2 hours.
Ali at the front desk was so nice and welcoming. She explained all they had to offer, offered us wine and also chatted about the area giving us advice on places to go see. Very friendly and helpful!
I got Judy and my wife got Kevin and we were both extremely happy with our massages. (We both got the happy head massage)
We walked through the community room and it too looked peaceful and relaxing opposed to other places weve been to.
I will definitely be going back next time I am in the area and hope you try them out as well. Very much worth the money. Its a steal compared to hotel spas and just as good!!

There's plenty of free parking. It's just a few minutes from Interstate-5. If you want a nude beach; the north area of the beach below the flight area is the nude beach section. It's natural to have families and couples there.

There’s a reason why some blockbuster Broadway hits start out here: audiences appreciate and respect the art of live theater and the productions here are always excellent. Even for me, this theater is worth the drive from Los Angeles! I always leave with a smile on my face. Go support live theater and especially this great company and venue.

Jonas Salk discovered the vaccine for polio and gave his discovery away - freely. His Salk Institute now houses 1100 researchers looking into an array of ills from Alzheimer's to autism. In the early 1960's, he commissioned Louis Kahn to create an inspiring place for science to take place.
The Salk Institute provides an hour-long tour that lets you see one of Kahn's architectural masterpieces with a docent who, in our case, was also an architect. Parking is a bit tricky, but just keep going on the road beside the institute until you come to a gravel lot on your right and stick to the Salk parking, then make your way back.
A surprising "feature" of the online tour registration was the lack of any automated email indicating that you've indeed been signed up. I ended up emailing a week before the tour to confirm we were on the list - so you might want to keep a copy of your page once you make the reservation. The group is small - about 15 people - and the pace is leisurely, with a few flights of stairs to climb up and down as you visit some of the lab spaces.
I'm still not sure if I actually LIKE the architecture or not, but it was thought provoking to hear about his designs and see them, and the view out to the ocean is stunning, of course. There is a serenity to the space that surprised me, and it was less intimidating and of a more human scale than I had expected.
I felt that the time for the tour was just about right, with plenty of opportunities for photos.

Hiking into the coastal portion of the Torrey Pines reserve offers you the chance to look upon some really beautiful scenery. Great coastline and clear blue sea as far as the eye can sea.
The hike up the hill is a little bit of a sweat-breaker but even those with mobility problems would be able to manage it, if slowly, and there are some small car parks further up the hill if access is difficult without a car.

Our first time on campus and we did a campus tour as a prospective future student. So much history and a lot to learn about this campus. It was great introductory tour. The Geisel library is a highlight and great photo op.
Recommend touring and learning their bus service to get around campus

One of the most amazing sights is circling the Washington beltway and coming across this apparition of the Mormon Temple seeming to levitate above the fog. A similar if less spectacular effect can be had if look on your left hand side as you drive south into La Jolla. For the first 6 months the public was allowed access but tourists can still admire the heavenly view.

Our Kids took us here for a sunset viewing. We had walked the beach for awhile taking in the west coast line. Surfer's and many others doing their thing. on the beach. Drove up to the top of the cliff parking area and walked out to the point. Great unobstructed view to where ever you cared to look. there are no bad sunsets and this is a great place to take it all in as the sun makes continues its move west to start another day

We didn't wait for a tour, but we did sample some beer and sit out on the covered patio near the street and chatted. Very laid-back atmosphere. I saw they served food, but we did not try it. Everything that was served looked great!
We saw some private cabanas on the patio as well. Looks like you can rent/reserve them.
