Meadow Mountain is exactly what it is named - mountain hike that is one very large meadow. This area is a defunct ski resort that never really got off the ground. Some of the former slopes can be seen cutting through aspen groves. The trail is a gently upslope through wild daisies and other wild flowers in July and quite beautiful. As altitude is gained, the views are more spectacular and plentiful due to the open nature of the terrain. As it such an open trail, I recommend getting an early start in the summer months and take lots of water to stay hydrated. The trail head is easily accessed and can be family-friendly. It looks like a great place for a winter snowshoe adventure, but after a fresh snow fall, as it appears the meadow could easily become windswept and icy.
