The Commonweal Theatre is Southeast Minnesota's premier live, professional, rotating repertory theatre. The season of 5 plays, plus an apprentice company production, runs March through December.
I didn’t really know what to expect. My wife suggested we bring my 82 year old mother for a Christmas play hoping she would like getting out and see something entertaining. The cast and performances were excellent. The theater is cozy, comfortable, and the sight lines are very good. My mother loved it and so did my wife and I. We’ve been to theaters in NY, Chicago, Minneapolis and other places in the country and this theater and cast would fit right in.

Saw Cinderella with my great niece, age 12, her grandmother and mom. We all thoroughly enjoyed the play and laughed and laughed. Highly recommend this show and any other performance they do. Very professional acting and set design. Brava!

The price can't be beat: for tickets and refreshments. The popcorn is freshly popped and of great quality. The variety of the films every day is great - a different film every showing of the day.

We attended a rock concert (The BoDeans) at the Sheldon Theatre. We were in the very last row of the lower level and still felt close to the stage with a good view of the band and excellent sound. We would definitely attend other shows here.
