Lake Superior Art Glass is a complete glassblowing studio and gallery. We have knowledgeable staff that are well-trained in everything from the artists featured in the gallery to teaching in the glass studio. Watch us work or take a class and make it yourself! Our gallery features glass artwork of all types made by over 60 artists from the Midwest and beyond. This includes stained, fused, flame-worked, furnace worked and more! FUN Art not Fine Art! Gather your friends and join us for an evening unlike any other - for fun, relaxation and to discover what masterpiece your inner artist can create! But, it's an evening for more than just painting! Arrive early to socialize, sip and nosh on locally provided wine and fare before we dive into the incredible experience of creating that night's featured piece of art. Don't have any experience? Don't worry! Experience is not necessary! In each of our two hours classes, one of our talented and skilled instructors will teach you the techniques, and provide the guidelines, for how to paint the featured artwork. Then, when the night is over, you'll be sure to walk out of the studio with your own creation that you are proud to show off.

EFS is a 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to build a community of learners that teach and celebrate the wilderness heritage, art, history, culture, and craft of all people in northern Minnesota. In 2016 we offered over 225 classes and 25 events. Students came from seventeen states and one Canadian province. Past examples of classes include pine needle and black ash basket weaving, rosemaling, silver-smithing, potica-making, traditional dance, and wool felting. In 2016, and repeated in 2017, our Birch Bark Canoe Project resulted in completion of a seventeen-foot canoe, offering the Ely youth to work alongside dedicated adults.
