3003 Steps to Linabo Peak

Reviewed By DipologCityTourism - Dipolog, Philippines

The concrete steps wind along a tunnel of verdant trees leading the visitors to a panoramic vista of sky, plains and sea horizons. Markers depicting the 14 Stations of the Cross punctuate the way up. During Lenten Season, thousands of people come to the place to participate in the Katkat Sakripisyo, a religious re-enactment of Jesus Christ's passion, suffering and death through the traditional Way of the Cross.

Walkway To The Old Volcano And Stations Of The Cross

Reviewed By GBAINC - Kabul, Afghanistan

This attraction was a hike up a moderately steep hill, along the way dioramas depicting the crucifixion of Christ, in full color. There were 15 "stations" (as they are called), each depicting the various stages from carrying of the cross, the crucifixion, Mary holding Jesus, the burial, and finally the resurrection. Even if you aren't particularly religious or not Christian, the hike is still a pleasant one, if not exerting. But our whole group made it to the end. I recommend bringing water with you especially during hot days. I actually carried two bottles of Gatorade, one mainly for the kids, and one for myself, while other adults carried water. We ended up consuming all of it by the time we got to the top. Speaking of which, the top offers great views but only on one side, the other side was obstructed by the hill. There was an entrance fee of 5 pesos, which should be trivial to any traveler.
