Tinago Falls

Tinago Falls are a bit - as the name says - hidden and you have to climb the 2 year old stair cases down. However standing in front of the falls reimburses the walk. There is a small lake to swim with the waterfalls in the front. You can ride a bamboo boat directly into the waterfalls and climb the rocks to jump from inside the waterfalls to the lake. Around the lake you can find small shops with beverages (also beer) and snacks. A nice relaxing experience.

Tinuy-an Falls

Reviewed By AlbertodelaPaz - Chiang Rai, Thailand

This was a side trip for us after visiting the Enchanted River at Hinatuan, Surigao province on the island of Mindanao, Philippines. This Pacific Ocean facing province of Mindanao is home to one of the largest - if not, the Largest pulp and paper factory in the Philippines. The forests are still rather lush, but you can see Albicia falcata trees planted in many places. This tree is used for the pulp and paper factory. Tinuy-an falls is around 30 km from the City of Bislig and is accessible by a concrete road all the way to the park. When we visited in September 2019, the park was not overrun by tourists - even on a weekend (Saturday). The grounds were regularly swept of leaves and people seemed to be mindful of where the disposed of their trash. Entrance fee was 50 pesos per person and parking was 20 pesos per vehicle (we had a Toyota pick-up. An official receipt was issued by the Office of the Treasurer - so I assume this place is run by the local government (as with the Enchanted Forest). All swimmers or raft riders were required to have floatation devices and enforcement of this regulation as ensured. There was a cell phone tower nearby so I was able to post photos of this place right from the site. Really convenient and tourist friendly. There were a few benches and tables for small groups. There was not much water at the falls as there has been an unseasonal drought spell. Ordinarily there would be much more water cascading down the falls. This is a truly wonderful place.

Enchanted River

Reviewed By mannyfoodtrip

One of the most popular destinations in Surigao del Sur. It could get very crowded on weekends and holidays. If you would like to enjoy the river and the Hinatuan complex better get here early. Better get here before 7AM so that you could rent a hut and you can enjoy the cold waters of the Enchanted River. Enchanted River is at the mouth of the sea that's why there is a mixture of fresh and salt water. You could go island hopping here also if you are tired of swimming at the river. There's a fish cage, a cave and a small mangrove forest to explore. It's worth seeing if you are in Surigao del Sur. The place where they breed and take phil. Eagles which are endangered to refuge. It is far from the city proper which is a good place so that it is quiet. You could see them face-front and near. They are really amazing raptors. There are other animals that are also kept in this place such as owls and other domesticated possible and endangered species. A self walk tour is already sufficient to learn from this place. If you get the chance to drop by here. Please follow their rules and buy their stuff to support this foundation.

Sugba Lagoon

Reviewed By gdsshanghai

This is one of the things you must do when you are in Siargao. First you need to go all the way to Del Carmen, around 45 minutes from General Luna. Then once at Del Carmen go to the pier and hire a banka. After 30 minutes of boating enjoying the mangrove, amazing scenery and the engine noise you’ll get to Sugba Lagoon, an amazing place for kayaking, paddling, jumping/diving, swimming or whatever you are inspired to do.
