What to do and see in Milan, Lombardy: The Best Shopping Tours

July 17, 2021 Trinity Boughner

One of the world’s fashion capitals, Milan offers endless opportunities for chic shopping. Hit the artsy neighborhood of Brera for leather goods and Via Monte Napoleone for exclusive, expensive boutiques. The enchanting mosaics and glass vaults of Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II make shoppers feel like they’re wandering inside a painting. Take break from your spree to gape at the iconic Duomo, then grab tickets to a performance at La Scala. Post-opera, the Navigli district pulses with late-night activity.

My wife, daughter and I signed up for Auroras cooking class in Milan and it was one of the highlights of our trip. The class was very well organized, the recipes were simple to follow and most importantly the food came out amazing. It’s very hands on, which is the best way to learn in my opinion, even my 6 year old daughter was able to learn how to make the gnocchis by hand and she was able to make them again when we got home. We made tagliatelle with bolognese sauce, gnocchis, Margherita pizza and panna cota for dessert. It was amazing how we could do so much in just a couple of hours. Luckily the other 2 couples joining our session were friendly and fun, which made it even more enjoyable. The location was very convenient too, just steps way from a metro station. Definitely recommend this activity for couples or families vacationing in Milan.

We’ll also be returning to the palace now that we have a better understanding of its history. Treat yourself to this very special experience!

We had only a few days in Milan at the end of July, beginning of November. We met in the city centre and to be honest we couldn't have chosen a better way to zip round those sights that you know you will regret not seeing when people ask you, upon your return, if you had visited them. Some history knowledge shared be the 'cyclist'. Probably not the most comfortable seats but you are given a blanket to keep warm. You literally don't have to anything except sit back and enjoy the modern rickshaw experience. I would go for 2 hour experience

Great tour on Oct 4, 2018 with City Unscripted guide - Beatrice! At my request, we spent much of our time in the Navigli neighborhood at dusk enjoying aperitivo and dinner. Beatrice knew all the charming places along the canal and also offered recommendations for the rest of my trip in Cinque Terre and Amalfi Coast. With friendly, personable Beatrice I felt I was experiencing Milan as a local. Thank you!
