I'm just back from a short break in Mijas and visited Finca La Alegria with my family for a horse riding experience. The horses were beautiful and although we were very inexperienced and not very agile the guide, Natalia, had so much patience with us. It was so nice to see the real Spanish countryside, going high up into the hills with spectacular views and the finca was an experience in itself with a small pony wandering around and even entering the bar. I would thoroughly recommend doing this if you are visiting the area. It was only a very short journey from La Cala de Mijas.

La Ermita Virgen De la Pena

I don't normally visit chapels/churches but couldn't resist a peep inside this little chapel whilst visiting Mijas last time. Steeped in history & dug out of the rock by monks centuries ago, make this chapel a little bit special. Inside, there is an altar & a few benches for worshippers, tho' it isn't that private with sightseers taking photos. Very cool in the very hot weather!!! We like to visit the Pueblo for the day, to have a mooch around the shops, enjoy coffee in one place, then have lunch with a bottle of wine in another restaurant. There are so many to choose from, it's hard to decide!. Last time we visited, we bought a stunning piece of Lladro in Tamisa, & Benjamin remembered us from a previous visit where we purchased a female Spanish dancer, so this visit, purchased another piece, a couple of Spanish dancers in a pose & the definition of their bodies is just stunning. They both look absolutely gorgeous in a cabinet in our apartment in Spain. He gave us a good discount too! Loli in their other shop La Great in the square was very helpful also. Nice people to do business with. Always worth a visit when visiting Mijas Pueblo. Parking is never a problem.... Multistorey of 10 levels costing....... 1euro... yes! that is correct.. 1 euro for the whole day!!!!

Absolutely love the boardwalk all year round. Summer with the Chiringuitos in full swing, winter with the sun on your face and beautiful fresh air, it’s such a wonderful addition to the coastline. We have a full video on it on our website and YouTube channel THEPOSHTRAVELBLOG so please have a look on there to get a real feeling for the boardwalk and the area.

Beautiful Andulusian village in the hills above Fuengirola, the bus takes about 20/30 minutes from the bus station, pay directly on the bus, was about 1.5 euros each way. Plenty to do with lots narrow streets with shops, bars, restaurants plus the historical little church, bullring and beautiful squares, can even take a horse drawn taxi around the visit. Definately worth a visit, especially on a glorious sunny day, will be back.
