Lively open air marketplace with lots of bars and restaurants. There's shopping as well. But from what I saw it does not appear as though people go there for the shopping. Loved the live Latin music and the food. Ate at Latin American Cuban Cuisine and it was wonderful. My husband got a Cuban sandwich and I got grilled fish with moros and cassava (both sides are a must!). We then took an evening Millionaire's Row sightseeing cruise. The homes and yachts were ridiculously beautiful. We only had one evening to spend in Miami before leaving for our cruise the next morning and I'm very happy with our choice. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was due to our experience with taxis. Beware of being overcharged because you are a tourist! Negotiate a fare upfront.

Nice boulevard on Lincoln drive, however missing some really cosey places on the beach. Too much of the same. Looking and to be seen!

We walked almost five blocks from the outdoor mall down to the beach. It’s a good spot to people watch. Along the road, there are a few tacky souvenirs shops to get a quirky or cheap souvenir. Around the outdoor mall area, there is a coffee shop, pizzeria and other restaurants, so a good choice to have a sit down meal

Great experience driving like in tropical park. W e are from Western Massachusetts, and it was great pleasure after all our snow storm experiences, to drive smoothly on excellent driveway along palm trees and having many opportunities to exit to see nice places and enjoy great food, museums, parks and beaches.

Southe Point Park is a beautiful waterfront park.We walked the trails and found a quiet bench to watch the sunset. We were treated to a spectacular sunset.

The New World Symphony (NWS), America's Orchestral Academy, opened its newly-designed 'campus' designed by renowned architect Frank Gehry, in February 2011 (previously, the NWS was located in the Lincoln Theater on Lincoln Road). NWS's new home is a $160 million building with attached garage located in a 2.5 acre park at the corner of 17th Street and Washington Avenue in Miami Beach.

The good news: New World Symphony Artistic Director Michael Tilson Thomas persuaded his childhood friend Frank Gehry to design the New World Center for his orchestra to replace an eyesore open parking lot across from the Convention Center. It was completed in 2011.
The bad news: The Miami Beach City Council was thrilled to have a world class architect but didn't actually like his designs. So the whole thing is a Gehry building encased in a box.
So take a tour, one hour, 1pm, certain days (check website). Our tour guide was a volunteer architect. Just fascinating. State of the art hydraulics to reconfigure the concert hall 36 ways. State of the art acoustics by the world's leading firm.
And hear a concert--buy tickets in advance. The intimate hall only seats 750. Amazing musicianship in wonderful acoustics.

First time visiting Miami Florida and this beach and boardwalk was absolutely breathtaking. The view of the city was just like I’ve seen in movies & tv shows. The beach and boardwalk was very clean. We walked the beach and boardwalk before resting at a beach front cafe for Cuban coffee and people watching!

We did not plan to visit this memorial, but it was on our way to Botanical Gardens. I am very glad that we visited, it is very impactful, full of contrasts and brings a lot of thoughts. Sculptures are powerful and well reflect the tragedy of the nation and every single individual. Stop at the visitors center, where you can get more info.

The gallery was very well laid out and the sales people were courteous and gives you space. I think they could make sure there is a better follow up steps offered especially to someone who comes in already familiar with Peter Lik's work.
The bonus is that nearby there are two other galleries to visit.
