Gilberto picked us up at 7:15 am and we headed for the beautiful town of Rio Lagartos, where we spent almost 3 hours on a small motorized boat. We saw crocodiles, a variety of species birds (which Gilberto can easily identify), nd of course the beautiful pink flamingos! The lunch at Rio Lagartos was fantastic (get the fish)! The tour also included a stop at the lovely pink lakes of Las Coloradas before heading to the mind-bending ruins of Ek-Balam. Gilberto was kind enough to give us and the two others on the tour the option to spend the rest of the day at the ruins or at the cenote on the site. My husband and I chose the ruins and we received an intimate and passionate tour from Gilberto. It’s truly mind blowing that excavation of some of these ancient ruins occurred less than 20 years ago and you are able to climb to the top of the acropolis. You will not be disappointed with a guide like Gilberto. He’s personable, multi-lingual, and funny. He also gave us really great suggestions on local cenotes and restaurants. Well worth the money spent on a full day of adventure. I highly recommend calling Mexigo Tours directly and/or going to their office just behind the main cathedral in the historic center of Vallalodid.

It was ok, the guide was funny, however I put only average as the tour part was very short and very little information. Probably for majority of people it's fine, but I was suprised by how small the area is. Prices of alcohol in different countries vary because of taxes, so USA citizens shouldn't buy there as the prices in US are far lower. They should not make negative reviews but check the price first!
