What to do and see in Marigot, Saint-Martin: The Best Things to do Good for a Rainy Day

August 19, 2021 Hana Mouser

The principal town and capital of French St. Martin, Marigot is an appealing spot with brightly colored houses, a scattering of restaurants and lively produce and crafts markets. It’s a great base for exploring St. Martin’s secluded beaches (many clothing optional) and its more vibrant, family-popular ones. Marigot is within easy reach of the famed restaurants at nearby Grand Case, said to have the Caribbean's best dining. Kept temperate by trade winds, Marigot stays warm and sunny year-round.

Roland Richardson Art Gallery

Reviewed By Alamito1

A wonderful place to visit! The gallery is not operating with normal hours during this Pandemic, but you can email them and they will set an appointment to meet with you. Laura and Roland graciously opened up the gallery for us to view the artwork, and the beautiful, historic house. His plein air paintings showcase the island and its people, and you can feel the light coming from the canvases. The artist took the time to talk to us about his work, and various pieces, and we purchased a painting that will always remind us of our time here, and of Sir Roland. The property is amazing, with a lovely garden. If you come to St. Martin, don't miss this. Just send them a message through their website.
