Prashar Lake

Reviewed By sanaser - Ludhiana

A trip was for four days from 12th March to 15th March,2018 to Himachal Pradesh which include the Prashar Lake also in our itinerary to gain an adventurous experience. We started our journey on 13th Feb, morning from Kullu to Prashar. The distance between Kullu to Prashar lake is 60 km and time took more than three hours to reach the destination as the road was not in good condition some where & some where the road was narrow. There was a picturesque views all along the journey up to Prashar lake. It is located at a height of 2730 m above the sea level. Prashar lake is surrounded by the majestic Dhauladhar Ranges. It is one of the most beautiful lake and scenic places with eye capturing Valleys. The lake is surrounded by small hillocks. We walked 500 meters to reach the top and from there we got a first sight of the lake and the Prashar temple. The three storied pagoda type temple is dedicated to saint Prashar. The lake is protected by a fence so no one can enter there. There is a round shaped floating island inside the lake. The trip was memorable & very nice for us as it was just a break from the schedule & busy city life.

On our family vacation to Dharamshala, we chanced upon Bhima Kaali temple which happens to be on the route from Mandi to Dharamshala. The deity here is supposed to be another incarnate or form of Maa or Mother Goddess Durga.
There are so many pious temples in this region, with Bhima Kaali Ma temple being another one. The temple is well maintained and systematic. Parking facilities, priests, hawkers, local people are all synonymous with this temple!
