Piazza del Castello di Montemerano

The Castle Square of Montemerano, was the largest and most important, was the parade ground for soldiers stationed in the castle, which were training here and could move about easily in the event of an assault. Suggestive passage to access it, you will cross a arch that frames.

When we visited Italy we chose to stay in Semproniano rather than a large city. While exploring the Tuscany area, we happened upon Montemerano and took time to explore. Wonderful architecture..........great place to take photographs.

We visited the museum on a Saturday morning and the young lady in charge of the place was extremely helpful - the artifacts are displayed well and there is good use of ITC equipment. The information is in Italian only but this did not detract from the visit. Although the tower is closed on Saturday because the museum was not busy the attendant was kind enough to open up the tower for us to see the splendid view from the top of the tower.
