River Beas originates in Rohtang pass in Manali and flows down through Himachal and merges in Sutlej in Punjab.The water is clear and clean.We visited Manali in november.Water flow was normal.After completing sightseeing we wanted to try some adventure sports.We opted for river rafting.We were four persons and they charged Rs 4000 for rafting and Rs 1000 for Vedio.We did rafting for 40 minutes.The charges vary based on the distance of ride.This was medium ride and is sufficient for first timers.It was fantastic .Enjoyed fully.Every one should try it as it is reasonably priced.And you get such opportunities not very often.

I did Hampta Pass and kedarkantha Trek with Renok Adventures, I absolutely love the Renok team their staff is courteous and always motivate you during the trek and their yummy food during the entire trek is yummmmm....Jalebi, Gulab Jamun and Gajar Halwa at those altitude is unbelievable. Kudos to the team ....If you are planning for Hampta Pass then at least speak to Team Renok once.

Important tip: Start early, say 6-7, and you'll mostly get the waterfall all to yourself. About 5 kms from old Manali, I woke up and just started walking. The last 1-2 kms towards the falls are beautiful with the beas flowing by the side and snow capped Mountains above the river view. I stopped and spent a lot of time clicking at this stretch.
Not a very big waterfall, but still a very pretty falls. You can enjoy the beauty of the falls at the first concrete bridge itself, but if feeling more adventurous,climb up further up to the top.

Over 500 years old temple. Surrounded by pine trees forest. Unusual wooden architecture. Also known as Dhungri Temple.
Four tiered pagoda shaped roof and doorway with figures & symbols makes the temple unique on its own way.
Religious site. Dress appropriately . Opens from 8 am to 6 pm. No entry cost.
Yak rides at the entrance to the temple.

We drove up to the Roerich Art Gallery from Kullu and walked through the lovely bungalow of the late Russian painter. The lighting on the paintings could be better; reflections were detracting from the master of mountainscapes' frames. There are entry tickets, but a guide would have been helpful

We visited the solang nullah during January. The place was covered with snow. There are large number of adventure sports activities available .You require special winter wear to avoid spoiling of your clothes. There are few local food stall catering tea.

It was a 4 day trek which started from 14 mor, near Gulaba. On the first day, it was only a 15 minutes steep hike till the campsite which was at an altitude of approximately 10,000 feet a kobove the sea level. You can see a clear view of Dev Tibba peak and Solang Valley. On the second day, there was a trek of 5 km till the second campsite, Rolla Khuli, which was at an altitude of approximately 12,500 feet. It was a little steep, continuous increase in altitude throughout the 5 km stretch. View from here was great. The same view as from Gulaba campsite but from 2,500 feet above. You can see beautiful meadows, water streams, bunch of sheep and much more from the campsite. On the third day we climbed till our summit, Bhrigu Lake, which is at an altitude of approximately 14,000 feet above the sea level. It was approximately 5 km trek till the lake, steep ascent in the starting, then easy walk and finally steep ascent through boulders. We returned to Rolla Khuli on the same day and last day we returned to Manali. Through the journey, you can see high altitude grasslands, snow covered peaks, beautiful Valleys and snow depending upon the month of visit. Also, you may face high altitude sickness anytime during the trek, be cautious and prepared for that.
