What to do and see in Malá Strana (Little Quarter), Bohemia: The Best Concerts & Shows

August 7, 2021 Renato Branum

The bohemian allure and fairytale features of Prague make it a perfect destination for beach-weary vacationers who want to immerse themselves in culture. You could devote an entire day to exploring Prazsky hrad (Prague Castle), then refueling over a hearty dinner at a classic Czech tavern. Spend some time wandering the Old Town Square before heading over to gape at The Old Town Hall and Astronomical Clock. Prague’s best bars are found in cellars, where historic pubs set the scene for a night of traditional tippling.

U Maleho Glena

Reviewed By Granuli - London, United Kingdom

In the neighbourhood of Mama Strana, downhill from the castle, you find this friendly jazz club where to have a really great time. At the pub upstairs they serve a good selection of local beers and what van be considered essentially pub food with a touch of eastern Europe. I had a pork chop with rosemary potatoes, My wife had goulash. Everything was excellent. Downstairs, you have the concert hall. Be advised: the number of tables is limited so you'd better book in advance. The ticket price was reasonable, and the quality of the musicians outstanding. Pretty long concert as well! Really enjoyed. On my way back, I couldn't find a uber because the connection was just bad. Staff helped me to find a local cab driver: they were extremely friendly. I loved this place! Will coke back if I'll ever be in Prague again soon. In the meanwhile, you readers go!

Liechtenstein Palace

The palace is situated on the west side of the upper Lesser Town square, opposite the St. Nicholas church and has taken place of five renaissance houses, which included the first Prague post office. On the commission and instructions of count Liechtenstein most of the west site of the square was rebuilt by Matyáš Hummel in at that time dominating style of classicism. The main concert hall of the palace, the hall of Bohuslav Martinů, is furnished by a modified version of classical seats. The reconstruction, completed in 1992, was conducted by Pavel Kupka.
