Morpeth Gallery

Located in the historical village of Morpeth in the Lower Hunter Valley, Morpeth Gallery has an excellent selection of fine traditional Australian landscape & wildlife art by internationally and nationally acclaimed artists. The gallery specialises in investment art with pieces which appreciate over time. The gallery opened in 1991 as a part of the Campbell's Store Craft Centre complex.

Morpeth has a number of very interesting places to visit and wander through both on the Main Street and in the little laneways. This gallery is one of those side excursions that will reward your time with a number of experiences. There is something for just about everyone including artworks, toys and local foods. I was impressed with the ginger beer tastings and left with a number of bottles.

Visited the restaurant there and then the gallery. There was a focus on local artists from young children onwards. The display easy to walk around and well sorted in genre and aspect.

The evidence: many many empty schooner glasses, two very merry old old school friends and their long suffering wives. The witnesses: the master Brewer and the assistant brewer who schooled the men in the finer points of the beers craft and the drinkers dilemmas. The dilemma: which beer to drink next. The verdict: truly excellent beer, delicious food accompanying it and delightful company in the pub and at the tables.
