Centro de Interpretacion del Marmol

The Marble Interpretation Center is conceived as a cultural space where history, tradition, innovation and future harmoniously coexist to offer us a vision of the Macael marble culture. It fulfills a triple function as visitor reception center, tourist information point and interpretive space that enables a contextualization of the Macael marble culture. Inside there are 22 panels, with information in Spanish and English. Together with them, the exhibition of different pieces and elements contributes to making the visit more attractive, participative and experiential.

Fuente de los Leones

Replica of the Fountain of Lions of Alhambra Palace, installed in order to value the use of Macael Marble throughout history. It's considered the masterpiece of Andalusian art. The cup bears on its perimeter 12 verses in describing the source itself. The replication installed in Macael is surrounded by marble slabs on which are inscribed the translation in spanish.

Mirador de Cosentino

Viewpoint over White marble quarry largest of Macael. From it can be seen safely dumpers and loaders extracting marble. Also the Puntilla Quarries, where the marble for the Alhambra was extracted and "Exodus" was filmed by Ridley Scott.

Mortero mas grande del mundo

Marble Mortar is a very popular object in Macael that has become its tourist icon. Registered as Guinness World Records, it is a tribute to the artisans of the Macael marble. Mortar (base) has dimensions of 3.29 meters. height, 3.07 meters. mouth diameter and 30.9 tons; while the pestle is 4.73 meters. height, 0.85 meters. in diameter and weighs 5,820 kg.
