An institution in itself, when I informed a friend that I was visiting Longmont, she immediately stated that I needed to visit the brewery. I am glad that I did because I now know why it is considered an institution, nitro infused beer – sort of like Guinness! A relatively small place, looks like a converted log house, but it’s homey and the beer outstanding.
I’m a visitor so it doesn’t affect me, but not being dog friendly seems so out of the place in outdoorsy Colorado, thus the decrement in rating.
My visits to the area will include a visit to the Left Hand Brewery.

Half the museum is free. The other half is a special exhibit that costs $8. Currently this exhibit is a dinosaur exhibit. Both halves are well done and take about 15 minutes each. Was it worth $8 for the dinosaurs? Not really.

We are avid hikers, and are always looking for locations that permit us to bring our Siberian Husky to hike with us (on leash).
We hiked all of the various loops at Rabbit Mountain with our dog a couple days following some snowfall, and had minimal crowds as a result, which was fantastic. Trails (in my opinion) are easy (to moderate in some areas). Lovely 360 views from the top, and great trail conditions overall. These are well maintained trails.
We didn't encounter any dogs off leash, which we appreciated, but based on other reviews, maybe just a lucky experience on our end. Either way, we were pleased.
There is a sunscreen dispenser at the trailhead (nice touch), for those who may have forgotten theirs, bags for your dog, and bathroom facilities...all super clean and well maintained. There is limited parking, so do plan accordingly on the weekends or days you may think will be busy, and arrive early.
Great trail system with several options to shorten or lengthen your time on the trail. Close to town, so an easy hike to fit into a busier day.

Went to this market because it was close and had some time. If we lived local this would be a weekly stop. Lots of fresh produce and local products . Most had samples ( kind of a small smorgasbord of local treats and flavors) Some entertainment and what you would expect from a farmers market. A great and relaxing stroll for a saturday morning

Plenty of hands-on opportunities to see and feed animals up close, plus lots of other things for children to experience: tractors to sit on, sand areas to play in, swings, a small zip line. Probably geared toward younger children - our 3 year-old grandson has enjoyed the farm several times.

The staff is very friendly. The atmosphere is great. I got a really cool tour of the brewery. Such great vibes. The beer is outstanding. Lightshine Helles is in my opinion the American version of Tegernseer Hell (German). If you are in the area, this is the place to check out.

We visited the museum during the Yesteryear Farm Show on August 28, which is an event not to be missed for all ages. The museum is a static exhibit of musical instruments, antique automobiles and farm equipment, plus a nice little collection of mostly 19th century long guns on the west wall. The museum has published a booklet that provides details of the vehicles and equipment. My favorite is the Marshall Drilling Rig, used for drilling water wells from 1946 to 1993.
The Farm Show is an incredible exhibition of vintage machinery chugging away, doing what it was designed to do. The owners have done a great job keeping these classics in running order and in many cases close to original condition in terms of paint and polished brass. To me, the star of the day was an early-20th century steam tractor, designed for coal but running on wood, making its way around the field. This tractor was about the size of a small battle tank, and seemed to function perfectly.
All the older tractors were designed to run other equipment through the use of a flywheel and leather belt. We saw a hay baler run in this fashion. There were also many household machines run by smaller engines - washing machine in particular.
I don't come from a farming background, so I have to thank the various owners who took the time to explain how the machines worked. This was a great event to see American ingenuity at its finest.
The museum is open seasonally, and the Farm Show is only once a summer at this location. During the Farm Show, there were vendors offering food and drink, but the museum alone does not have such services.

This is a great little park for day use, camping or RVing. There are several small lakes and a river runs through the park. There are picnic spots, toilets and clean showers. It is situated on the central flyway so birds are numerous including two nesting pairs of Ospreys and white pelicans. The staff are friendly. The sites are large and not crowded together. Convenient to Denver, Fort Collins and Estes Park.

This well maintained lake has a beach, separate kayak/paddleboard parking, boat rental (kayak and paddleboards), lifeguards, camping and more. Bring your picnic, your water toys and enjoy a sandy beach on a hot day. No motorized boats allowed, which only enhances the ambiance of this Colorado beauty. There is plenty of shade and plenty to do for family members of all ages. Many reviews mentioned dogs and dog swimming. We are not dog owners, so we did not even notice this. We have only been to the beach area, so can not comment on the campground area.

We are head over heels in love with Colorado and the average of 300 days of sun we get to enjoy each year. Nothing pairs better with a sunny day than a fun, relaxing place to hang out and enjoy a craft beer. We serve up a selection of delicious handcrafted, well-balanced ales in a comfortable, family-friendly tasting room with east facing deck. We have paninis and charcuterie to keep your belly happy and some wine and ciders on hand for your gluten-free or not-yet-converted-to-craft-beer friends.

There are a few necessary components that make for a good craft brewery and 300 Suns has almost all of them.
1. A clean and inviting environment.
-The space is bright, open and well laid out with creative decor (including local art for sale).
2. Opportunities for entertainment.
- They have a bookshelf of games, trivia cards on the tables, a string swinging bar game, and other scheduled entertainment.
3. Of course, good-tasting and interesting beers.
- We found a solid variety of beers with distinct and enjoyable tastes that we would come back for.
4. Good-tasting and interesting food to accompany the beers.
- They have some unique items to their menu and everything we tried we enjoyed.
5. Reasonable prices.
- We were able to get a groupon deal, but even without that the prices are pretty reasonable.
6. A warm, friendly staff.
- Unfortunately this is the one area I found 300 suns falling short in. It isn't that they are unfriendly, so much as they are just indifferent. Think of the type of scene you see in shows where a non-local walks into an empty small town bar and the bartender just stares at them until they order. That is how it felt and I personally prefer a more outgoing and hospitable staff when I go to microbreweries.
