Jones Beach State Park

This park offers visitors seven miles of beach, two swimming pools, a boardwalk and games.

Jones Beach State Park, a NY STATE PARK so Parking Fees apply during the season, 10.00 dollars daily. There are plenty of activities at the park for every one. A great boardwalk, a beautiful beach, playgrounds for the kids, Shuffle board and miniature golf. Beside the Beach, the 2 pools should be open during season, I rode my bike on the bicycle path from Cedar Creek park to Jones Beach which is about 5 miles. i didnt continue but i think it goes further along the bay towards Gilgo Beach. Now the Best hidden secret in this park, Parking lot 10(check out picture) with the fishing pier have the best sunsets. GO there and you will see what I mean.

Montauk Point State Park

Reviewed By JohnRegoPark - Rego Park, United States

It's a far place, no doubt about it, but it is really worth it. The ride from New York is generally smooth until you get to the Hamptons when all of a sudden the highway becomes a street, and there are lights. The park itself is wonderfully laid out. There is ample parking, bathroom facilities, picnic tables, and hiking paths. You can get down to the water and walk around the base of the lighthouse. The lighthouse itself is not to be missed. There is a small charge to get into the museum which is the bottom floor of the lighthouse. The exhibits chart the history of the lighthouse, which has never been moved. The efforts to keep the sea at bay are very interesting. Because of covid restrictions, there is no place to buy food here. This is a wonderful day trip from anywhere on Long Island and will supply a lasting memory.

Long Beach

Reviewed By colonial23 - County Galway, Ireland

Long beach is so much f un. It is unpretentious and has lots of great Italian restaurants. It is not far from the parking lot like Jones and Robert Moses/Fire Island and it is unpretentious. I like the crowd who comes to long beach. I cannot stand waiting so long to get to Jones beach it simply is NOT worth it. And there are no restaurants nearby. The Hamptons and Montauk are filled with the annoying and tacky nouveau riche. Little Long Beach has nice people and is a fun place to go in summer and it is closer to the city without the horrendous traffic encountered on the North Shore. A great place!

Robert Moses State Park

Reviewed By EdP517

The park is part of the Fire Island Seashore. Closer to New York City and also serving Long Islanders it tends to be crowded and is accessible by car, bus and Long Island Railroad. There is a large public pool as well as the Atlantic Ocean. There are food concessions and an outdoor theater for concerts and plays. B hers who might wish a calmer atmosphere need to go further south to the 2 communities on Fire Island and to the wealthy beach scene of the Hamptons.

My significant other and I went to the Long Island Aquarium for my 22nd birthday and had an incredible time. There was plenty of stuff to do. We got there around 10:30am and didn't leave until almost 2pm. We fed the stingrays, walked through the butterfly garden, spent alot of time looking through the different exhibits, and saw the sharks. We pet the sea star in the touch tank. We saw the sea lion show (Jenna and neila were both great). Afterwards we went through the outdoor exhibits and saw the penguins, river otters, reptile house, and Japanese snow monkeys. It was an awesome day and I 10/10 recommend.
