It is easy to hike the paths here. There are plenty of other people and their dogs enjoying the vistas. There is a nice observatory tower and a few footpaths off the main ones. Plenty of squirrels and rabbits skitter around in the bushes. It is not overly shady, so use the sunscreen and wear a hat. There is no light on the paths at night, so plan a daytime hike.

The staff is very friendly and made the whole experience awesome.

The tour was very educational and fun, our group learned quite a bit on the process of Rum, Vodka, Bourbon, and Whiskey. I thought we would have more than 3 tastings but it was still a good tour. The drinks we had afterwards were very...MoreThank you, Shayla! Although we generally offer 4 tastings on the tour, if there is anything else that you'd like to sample, our bartenders will be more than happy to help. Please come see us again soon!

We are golfers and this experience is great if you just want to hang out with friends and hit balls. It's very social and allows for fun interaction and competition. I'd give this place a 5-star rating because the couple of people we interacted with were very friendly. However, my husband's watch went missing from the table and we never found it. Also, you "have to" sign up as a membership (just $5) and we were told that we wouldn't get inundated with emails. But, I got 5 emails the next day. I had to unsubscribe. We'll go to another TopGolf facility in the near future, but we'll watch our belongings more closely. Also, keep tabs on what you're spending. It's easy to overspend with the drinks, golf time and food.

The Tribute at the Colony

A famous Scottish golf course designed by Tripp Davis.

Reviewed By scottygator94 - Aubrey, Texas

This is a destination golf course in the North DFW Metroplex, and the layout is pretty amazing. right on the shores of Lake Lewisville, an 18-hole course has been constructed where every single hole is a replica of a famous hole from a course in the British Isles. Because the wind is ALWAYS blowing on this course, you can stand on the first tee and imagine yourself at St. Andrews; in fact, the 1st, 17th, and 18th holes are all replicas of the same holes at the Old Course, the home of golf, complete with the burn that runs in front of the 1st green and meanders underneath a copy of the Swilcan Bridge just paces from the 18th tee!

Things to be wary of: 1.) unlike in the British Isles, there are snakes aplenty at The Tribute, and many are venomous, so if you venture off into the native areas or near the creeks (or near the lake to the left of #6 and #7), take a club with you. I have seen a couple of cottonmouths as big around as my lower leg (especially in the canal that bisects #2), and quite a few copperheads, too.

2.) The driving range and practice area is quite a walk from the parking lot; if the cart guys aren't busy, they'll typically give you a ride down to the range in a cart...make sure to tip them a couple of bucks for their trouble.

3.) The course stays busy. As a result, the greens can get pretty beat up, and run on the slow/bumpy side. Just hit your short putts firm, and don't let it take away from the fact that you're playing a really fun golf course, even if it takes you 5+ hours to play 18 holes.

The clubhouse also serves as a hotel, with a pretty decent bar and restaurant. There isn't much else within 5 miles, so if you go, plan on staying on site. If you have a car, though, venture out to LoneStar Taps and Caps (about 15 mins south on FM 423), or just go to the Tom Thumb supermarket (which carries a pretty good selection of Texas brews).

Hydrous Wakeboard Park

Reviewed By GINNY - Dallas, Texas

My boys took a week of 3 hour wake boarding lessons here at the park. The boys were both up and wake boarding within a few days and couldn't wait to go back. They are both 14 years old. There were boys and girls much younger in the class did well also.

The restaurant next-door is a great place to wait. They made it very comfortable especially in the heat, to wait through the kids lessons. It will be wonderful once the construction on El Dorado is finished.
