This innovative and internationally renowned museum showcases more than 80,000 works of art from Paul Revere's silver and caricatures of 18th century Europe, to French Impressionists and the avant-garde works of recent alumni. A 12th-century Japanese Buddha has its own room with benches for meditating.
RISD Museum continues to be top-notch! we were there Jan 2015 and much of the displays delighted me-again, or newly! Beautiful furniture design-a cherry music stand as eye-catching as a sculpture--some classics from mid-century 1900's still sharp and stand-out well-designed---but I also want to compliment the guides this time. We were given suggestions and offered assistance to see more of what we were obviously enjoying by several guides-and helped navigating some of the more confusing halls and connections between areas. All was done pleasantly and so helpfully-I was really impressed and grateful!

Fully restored historic Vaudville theatre presenting concerts, musical theatre, comedy, dance and theatre education programs at family affordable rates.
Beautiful theater. We saw "A Christmas Carol" and it was a great show. Our seats were in the upper section and we could see the entire show clearly and without any obstruction. We arrived an hour ahead of time and did not have a problem finding a municipal parking space. We will be visiting the Stadium for future shows.

A popular baseball field (home of the Pawtucket Red Sox) for minor-league games that draws a huge crowd.
I have been coming here for years and years. It is a great place for watching AAA Baseball . It is much better in many ways than seeing MLB first hand. The prices for everything are drastically cheaper, less crowds, better parking-free if you get there early, including handicapped and easier traffic.
I would recommend going to MLB at least once in a lifetime though. Many stars come from AAA. The players usually like giving autographs.
Lastly, McCoy has events sometimes, like walking the field, fireworks and more.

After two days of hard hiking elsewhere, we were looking for a leisurely hour or so walk/hike, and found it here. The Lincoln Wood trail travels along an old railroad bed, flat with a slight incline, along a river. Very pretty, quiet and easy, 2.8 miles out and back. There are numerous, longer hikes that start from this park. Parking fee is $5.

lovely paved pathway for biking, running or walking. It is a well maintained area that runs along the Blackstone River. There are some small inclines along the way but nothing steep. There are many areas where you are able to gain access to the path. Be aware It is not cleared after snowstorms….

The newly renovated 40-passenger riverboat will bring you on an intriguing and relaxing cruise through the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park. For the last 25 years, hundreds of thousands of passengers have come to learn and discover interesting facts about Blackstone Valley, and see the quiet beauty many are often surprised to find! Whether you’re a tourist visiting Rhode Island’s National Park, a local resident wanting to learn more about your backyard, or someone simply looking for a fun and unique experience, we love to share the rich history and scenic landscapes that become extra special when taken in on the waters that created them all. The peacefulness, beauty, and wildlife you can now find along the river is a bold juxtaposition from the rough industrial past that birthed America’s Industrial Revolution and made us famous. 45-minute Nature and Heritage Tours are every Sunday at 1, 2, and 3 PM 45-minute Environmental Tours are the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month at 10 and 11 AM
This was a relaxing 45 minute cruise up and back the river. The guide was knowledgeable and interesting, but there's not much to see. There is some wildlife and old mills to see, but I would not call this a history tour.
The focus is on the environment. While not preachy, their goal was to inform you on the poor condition on our rivers.

A National Historic Landmark, the Slater Mill is a living history museum and educational center.
I took my mom and friend to Slater Mill last weekend, we had a private tour because no one else showed up. Our tour guides were extremely informative and friendly. We toured 3 buildings, they answered all of our questions, provided a terrific background to the Industrial Revolution and how Slater helped to build and create this revolution.

Hartleys Pork Pie Shop (for take out) is one of those rare businesses that has been open for a VERY long time, has changed virtually nothing, and is still in business making the same fantastic pork pies. The shop is so tiny, I think only 3 customers at a time could fit in! You can get pork or meat and potatoes, but the hot ones with the juices bubbling on top are the best! You do need to watch their hours though. But worth it. DELISH!!!

We are located a the north east end of the airport next to the big blue hanger. Follow signs for the skydive center. Pull in, park and walk up to white building. Spectators are welcome. We have large picnic tables and a deck where friends and family can see you jump.
I had always wanted to do skydiving and enjoyed it beyond expression. The team is well experienced and they know what they are doing. We did a video of our dive and watching it is just hilarious. I will do it again any other time I have the opporunity. Had so much fun .......
