Motylarnia w Czaplach Wielkich

Our live butterfly exhibition is primarily an educational center. We enjoy sharing our passion and knowledge about the life of butterflies. You will hear a short presentation, visit our butterfly-rearing facility, peer through microscopes to see the details of butterflies' anatomy. Finally, you will walk among butterflies from four continents, watch them feed, lay eggs and - if you are lucky - emerge from pupae. Our exhibition is open seasonally, currently we are closed and will re-open in spring/summer 2021.

Papugarnia Amazonia

Meet with unique parrots, get to know their habits, sensitivity, respect as a friend and they will play with you. You can also feed them and even pet them :) Inside there are over 40 parrots of various species!

Slightly confusing at start finding our way in but once inside, staff were lovely and talked though everything to expect and offered us food bowls for an extra 5 zł each to feed the birds. You pay for a ticket per person for 20 minutes. Beautiful birds of many types! You stand inside the room with then and they come land on you, eat the food and some have a cheeky nibble on your ear, shoes etc.. highly recommended for those with no fear of huge parrots and lovely smaller exotic & European birds. I’d come back to Kraków again just to experience it! Photos taken after we left as they probably would love to nibble on my iPhone ????

Went yesterday and got the 134 bus from the Cracovia Stadia. Bus runs every half hour and costs 3.40 plan. Journey takes 20 mins and stops right by the entrance. Don't get a taxi as stated in other reviews as it will drop you at the foot of a very long steep drive. Beautiful animals inc lots of wild cats, tigers, lions, leopards, elephants, giraffes, monkeys, reptiles, reindeer, zebra, lots of birds, penguins and sealions plus many more. The setting is beautiful but like a maze and you could easily miss things. Some of the cats did seem distressed and the their enclosures were not big enough in my opinion. However, well worth a visit and only cost 18 pln/£4.

Muzeum Przyrodnicze Instytutu Systematyki i Ewolucji Zwierzat PAN

Muzeum Przyrodnicze ISEZ PAN w Krakowie udostępnia swoje zbiory w budynku dawnej „Łaźni Rzymskiej” przy ul. św. Sebastiana 9 w Krakowie. Muzeum w tym miejscu otwarto w styczniu 1993 roku, wcześniej zbiory gromadzone były w budynku PAU przy ul. Sławkowskiej. Historia muzeum sięga swoimi korzeniami roku 1865, kiedy to utworzona Komisja Fizjograficzna Towarzystwa Naukowego Krakowskiego, rozpoczęła gromadzenie zbiorów. Łączna liczba zgromadzonych obecnie eksponatów to ponad 2 miliony okazów.
