Leoben (German pronunciation: [leˈoːbn̩]) is a Styrian city in central Austria, located by the Mur river. With a population of about 25,000 it is a local industrial center and hosts the Montanuniversität Leoben, which specialises in mining. The Peace of Leoben, an armistice between Austria and France preliminary to the Treaty of Campo Formio, was signed in Leoben in 1797.

Excellent tour, clear explanation of the brewing process. Interesting museum what more can a beer lover ask for? Oh yes the samples were well worth waiting for. Anyone who enjoys good beer should try and join this brewery tour, it is an experience worth enjoying. My only complaint is that while I can enjoy their beer in Austria and also Australia (at the German Club, Brisbane) I can't get it in London!

Located in the city centre, is a nice place in summer to have a beer with amazing views on the top of the tower. With a huge selection of beers is the best place to enjoy beers that you can't get easily anywhere. The owners take really care about the products they sell and about the customers. Smoking free bar, this is a plus! Highly recommended!

This is the only shopping mall in Leoben. There are several coffee shops, stores and a supermarket (Spa) inside. In fact, it has necessary things you need. People normally go shopping at this place when they already know exactly what they want to buy. You really can't walk around and enjoy the stores like you do in big cities. So this might not be a fun place for shopping especially for an Asian like me.
However, they have quite big H&M store which is nice, and many items in several stores are always on sales!

Even during the winter weather, the park look very nice. Unfortunately, not all the paths are opened during that time of the year. So I am looking forward to see the park during some different season.

Ein interessanter Einblick in die Stahlproduktion und das Endprodukt Schiene. Die Führung beginnt mit einem Video und dann bekommt man einen Überblick über die Produktion und sieht die längste Schiene der Welt (120 m).
Unbedingt feste Schuhe anziehen und für kleine Gruppen muss man bei der Tourismusinformation buchen.

There are two main University buildings - the old one and the new one. Old one is done in typical simple Austrian 18-19 century style, while new one looks like an unique architectural work. But I was not impressed that much.
On the other hand - I am regretting that we did not visited Museum of University, but we did not know that we need to call for reservation.

Die ehemalige Jesuitenkirche wurde in den letzten 10 Jahren aufwändig restauriert. Die Fassade ist schlicht, doch das Innere birgt sehenswerte Details.

Schönes ehemalige Benediktinerkloster, das jetzt im Besitz der Brauerei ist (abgesehen von der Kirche, dem Glockenturm und den Pfarrheim). Einen Besuch absolut wert besonders da es gleich neben der Brauerei liegt und sich so damit verbinden lässt.

a smal theater, but it shows best productions with international stars. But also it is a place for scools, to show there theater, or dancings or ballett to show it to the parents, grandmas and grandpas.
