What a fantastic place, I loved it here and could have easily spend all day wandering around exploring. We cycled here, Oleron is a paradise for fans of cycling, and arrived on the edge of the fort with little boats moored on the side. The fort is quite big with lots of areas for kids and adults to explore in and around the walls. This isn't just a great place to soak up some local history but with interesting sculptures and lots of nooks and crannies, this is a great place to take kids!
