Museum of the Great Plains

Reviewed By CHEFSAH - Chicago, Illinois

An adult with good reading skills can breeze through here in less than 30 minutes (makes the admission seem over-priced!) having read all the displays. There are some interesting tidbits here and there -- and the tornado simulator is kinda cool but still juvenile.... Anyhow, the saddle shop history was interesting and the general store took less than 5 minutes to walk through and comprehend. I was hoping for a whole gallery of Native American art....and more art by native Okies....but no such luck. The museum needs to be much larger and include far more. Even a hallway full of pictures of Lawton from the early part of the 1900s would have helped. I was disappointed. :-( It was over 100 degrees on the day I was there making the outside display prohibitive.

Imagine an aviation museum with a hundred aircraft then imagine an equal number of artillery and tanks. That is the fort sill artillery museum. A varied collection dating to Civil war
Plus an atomic missile that was never used against the Nazis.
The outdoor collection is complimented by an indoor collection.

My spouse loves to gamble, but she hates the one armed bandits better known as slot machines. She plays a mean game of roulette, but especially loves digital or virtual roulette. You will not find that game at the Apache casino. According to workers, They had one in about a year ago, but it was not profitable and people showed little interest. Still, if you are looking for slot machines, then this is the place for you.

The home is beautiful. Fully restored and furnished - just so interesting and a sight to behold.
Mattie's story is very interesting and something I believe most people would be interested in learning.
We were not here for a special event, just sightseeing, but what a beautiful location this would be for an event!

There was a question if this attraction was free to the public and the answer is yes if you don't want to play but just observe. Anyway it is a low key casino mostly slots, did not see any video poker games. No shortage of open slot machines and has 2 grill areas. As far as smoke goes it wasn't too bad, noticeable but not thick smoke but it was around 7 PM. For a former smoker as I it probably isn't the best place to hang around. It'd be nice if there was a separate even if small non-smoking room such that the smoke didn't reach but I understand it's a matter of economics. But I can see this as being an enjoyable place to visit and have fun with the slots from time to time.

Comanche Nation Waterpark

Reviewed By sjmdailey

Over priced for what it is. Needs updating!! The concrete throughout the park is deteriorating. The women's locker/shower/changing building is filthy. The water slides are dated. I left with whelps on my back from one of the slides (red and white one). I did not buy food so I cannot comment on it. The tube and locker rentals are also pricey. It is the the only water park in the area unless you drive 45 minutes to Wichita Falls.
