This was a nice mid-way point on our drive from Salt Lake to Jackson Hole. We wanted to experience something in Idaho, and this was a great place to feel like a local! There are several pools with varying degrees of heat. I really enjoyed the facility and thought it was very clean and enjoyable.

We had 22 of our family and split our time between the pool, hot pools and floating with tubes on the river. The hot springs pool is clear beautiful water with slides, diving boards and platforms. On weekends it is crowded and there are lines to get in. There was a large kids area and the teens and others love the challenge of the platforms. It's a natural hot springs with and overflow into the nearby river (which was also a fun spot for the kids to play)

Our trip thru Idaho was delayed and the visitor center gave us information on Lava Hot Springs Mineral pools. We were not sure it was worth the trip but it was great. The facility was very clean. The hot pools were so relaxing. It was worth much more than the $10 admission fee .

This museum located within the visitor center at Lava Hot Springs, Idaho is much larger than I expected. The information on local area history and the Native People who have long lived here is excellent. I've been to several museums in Idaho and found this one informative and charming. Allow more than an hour. Staff is very helpful!

I've been stopping by The Purple Moon in Lava Hot Springs for years - in fact, every time I pass by! It is fun to see what is new and unique that has been brought in from across the world. The Purple Moon tends towards the sophisticated new age aware shopper but also has a great variety of cultural items from Africa and Asia and original art work for sale. On one trip I asked Brad if he could find ma a larger sized hand carved Eastern styled Buddha, he said he would look into it. This past weekend I stopped in and there it was - custom ordered from Malaysia! and < $40.00. Very Cool.
