We had an excellent experience with Joe e Liz. We really loved their hospitality. They welcomed us in their house, surrounded by vineyards, with a glass of good wine and, above all, with their smiles. The apartment was large clean and well equipped, the night was so quiet.. and the breakfast wonderful! We felt at home during all our stay there and joe and Liz cuddled us and our son.. In the afternoon joe showed us his activity through the vineyards and the cellar and in the evening Liz served us a fabulous dinner! We enjoyed the dinner and the company. We suggest this place to everyone!!! Thank you Liz and Joe Paolo, Barbara e Matteo

Seigneurie de Peyrat

Of the many great houses and wine estates in the Pézenas area, few can match the charms of the Seigneurie de Peyrat. Today, (a family-run business) the estate covers 200 hectares, with 120 hectares of vines, olive trees and guarrigues. Famous grape varieties such as syrah, grenache, carignan, merlot, cabernet, cinsault and pinot noir are used for the red wines, followed by sauvignon, viognier, colombard, vermentino and chardonnay for the white ones. All grapes have been selected and are blooming on this fabulous terroir (clay and limestone / villafranchien soils). Respecting environment and searching for high quality; this is our daily guideline. You will be welcome here to visit our castle, its chapel and also our cellar. (on appointment)If you want to buy or taste our wines, the cellar is open from Monday to Friday from 10:00 until 18:00.

We spent a wonderful afternoon trying 8 different wines: whites, rosé, reds and one sparkling. These are accompanied with some delicious local produce of cheeses, olives and chutneys. Great value at only €19. Cecile and Lucy were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and made it so enjoyable and relaxing. This chateau is perfect for social distancing with secluded tables in a spacious, shady courtyard. We had a wander around and found a beautiful, old chapel and stunning views. Do not miss out - you won’t be disappointed!

Last weekend I participated in an on-line class with Chef Eric . What fun...informative, too! We were sent the recipes for Fish in Papillote and Caleriac in Papillote. The recipes are well-written and easy to follow, but there is nothing like watching a chef actually working through all the steps. I have taken many classes at Cook'n with Class in Paris and never been disappointed, but until we can return to France again, this is a really nice alternative. I highly recommend Chef Eric's on-line classes.

Domaine Preignes Le Vieux

Historical tour : travel through time, visit the 12 thcentury chapel, the chateau built in 1202 by the Viscount of Pezenas, William of Pezenas. Not forgetting the royal dovecote with more than 150 nesting boxes, that dates from the 15th century and served as an indication of the estate's wealth. In the winery, discover the secrets of a traditional vinification method that respects the fruit and the characteristics of the grape varieties. Guided, interactive tour, during which any questions are welcome. Tasting; the most popular part of the tour... We encourage a genuinely shared tasting experience, in which people talk about the wines. Our objective is to help visitors understand the wine and what we try to achieve. Essentially, it is an introduction to tasting, a convivial, interactive occasion at which visitors are encouraged to express their feelings about the wines.

This was great. The guide was really informative and enthusiastic about the history of this marvelous building. In addition we learned a lot about the wine making process, followed by an excellent and generous wine tasting with plenty of information about all of the different wines. The tour was given in both French and English. I would strongly recommend it.

This is an imposing church which exudes a sense of deep history. The stained-glass windows at the altar end of the church – the apse – are beautiful, particularly the two rose windows – one at each end of the transept. I sat there for several minutes gazing at their beauty … and returned two days later to have another look. The windows rivalled anything that I’ve seen on visits to various churches around the world.
