We take our Grandchildren here so much, the period-dressed staff remember their names! From feeding the chickens, to gathering eggs and pumping water for the cattle, it's a great experience for young minds. Depending on the time of year, there are various scheduled activities (usually on the weekends) but don't let that stop you from visiting during the week.

Great Indoor Farmers Market! Great seasonal produce, butcher, cheese artisan, and other stands selling unique items. There is also a small section selling coffee and ready made food items, including donuts and baked goods. The coffee was OK but I wasn't a very big fan of the donuts.

My rating of this "thing to do" is based on historical significance, not hiking, biking, or boating. I learned a little about the canal from the New Hope friend I was visiting, since we kept crossing it as we went other places over the weekend. But when I was walking alone along Main Street, with all its inviting shops and eateries, I came up to a sign reading "Delaware Canal State Park." At the top of the steep stone staircase beside the sign I discovered a portion of the canal that appears to be part of extensive preservation/restoration efforts. Several buildings involved in the operation of the canal were indicated by signs but not open for viewing, at least on the Saturday I was there. The canal itself was totally dry. Across the footbridge was a visitors' center and a parking lot. I liked reading about the history of the canal and seeing right there one of the locks that made canal traffic possible. It's a beautiful spot, well worth a 10 or 15 minute visit.

We try to visit this antique market at least once each year, and it's always fun. This year, we found a stained glass dragonfly lamp for $40, a giant crate of stained glass sheets for $60, $1 jewelry tables, yard sculpture, a terrific print of Hawaii, and some other little things. We had a blast walking around and talking to the vendors, on a gorgeous spring day. Bring cash, wear closed shoes (it's all gravel), and get there early to get a good parking spot.

Was wandering around Lambertville/New Hope and ended up at The People's Store. Very down to earth store, lots to look at. On street parking is difficult in this area, but a few streets away and you have no problem. The meters take only coins and this APP. But it seems every town has a different parking APP and the reviews are terrible on the APP not working and people still getting tickets. Us coins !
There is another Antique store almost next to this one and another across the street. This stores has your everyday items to some very expensive selections.

I went here in early September to photograph some flowers and butterflies. Flowers were a little past their prime but the trails were very nice hike in the woods with alot of shade and not crowded. They do not allow dogs I would have loved to take my dogs. The trails are reasonably marked and all roads lead back to the main office and small gift shop. There was a plant sale there the day I visited and you can purchase many different perennials and small trees for a reasonable price. Bring your own water as nothing on the trails. I did notice a lack of garbage cans and placed all my bottles in my backpack but it could be an issue. Very few butterflies but I did capture photos of an incredibly photogenic praying mantis I will visit in spring next year. Across the street is sheep farm which is only a hop skip away. I believe it is associated with Washington Park. also very nice walking paths. Not good for wheelchair on wooded paths but there is paved areas. Little gazebos and seating areas sporadically placed

This is a very nice walk in good weather, with picturesque New Hope on one end and pretty Lambertville, New Jersey on the other. The views of the Delaware River are lovely, and many people float around the river in tubes. Shops and good restaurants in both towns, many antique shops in Lambertville.

This is the Lambertville venue of the sister store in New Hope. Always numerous temptations in terms of arts and crafts style home door, clothing accessories, jewelry etc. A must if you are shopping for gifts! For yourself or others. You will never leave empty handed!
