Founded by the Acadians in the 19th century, the legacy of Louisiana's French, Spanish and Caribbean ancestors comes together in Lafayette, creating a city with, amongst other things, a vast selection of restaurants serving everything from spicy po'boys to crawfish etouffee. With its lively street festivals, impromptu Zydeco concerts, historic plantations and food markets where locals still order their plate lunches in Louisiana French, Lafayette is the heart of Cajun country.

After trying to go to the Zoo, which was closed for no apparent reason on a Saturday, we found this place. I called BEFORE the place was opened and Jenna answered. It is so unusual to get an actual person and not a recording (which doesn't ever seem to get updated at most places!). We arrived at 10 AM exactly. It was not crowded yet. Jenna helped us with our arcade card purchases and info for the attractions. The only thing negative I would say - since it is colder weather and Covid, there aren't as many attractions open as listed as options. My oldest child lost his arcade/attraction card. Jenna quickly looked it up and replaced it. There are not many places with that level of service and care. They did routinely clean. The bathrooms were modern and very clean.
