How this museum is not rated 5* all the way baffles me. Giles, the current family member in charge and his father Before have done an amazing job! This is part of our history as Europeans, savage as it me be, layes out out in a fantastic way, translated for all to understand. War machines, weapons, medical Instruments and all forms of attire there to see, read and learn along with video footage and description! What they’ve collected, refurbished and restored (Giles has personally restored many of the machines himself, formally a mechanic) is unbelievable and there to learn, understand and ponder. This Place is a must and an absolute bargain for what it offers. Next year more artifacts from his collection are to be added. I can’t wait and will be back. My partner has no interest in war and conflict but was astonished at the quality of the information at hand about the history of what our grandparents went through. Simply brilliantly put together. A must visit.

This walk is 13,5 km if your can park your car at the parking close by. Elevation difference is 450 m what make it a rather difficult walk. You should fore see at least 5 hours in normal weather condition. There are different places where you can have a nice stop to eat and enjoy the view. Try to be there around noon to have a place at the car park. You will have a challenging but unforgettable afternoon. To finish your day you can go to La Roche for a nice dinner.

Chateau de La Roche-en-Ardenne

This was a feudal castle dating back to the 9th century. The towers, murder-holes and give you a real feeling of an age-old mediaeval atmosphere.
