Bukit Kluang Beach

Reviewed By Shahul Hameed S - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

This beach is definitely popular with locals. May locals come here during the weekend for picnic, teenagers come to hang out. There are quite a number of food stalls to buy food. It is a nice beach with a good view. I went to other side of the beach where not many people go and there were no facilities unlike the other end. It was far better and total privacy.

Pantai Irama Bachok

Reviewed By paulyn y - Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

We reached this beach (by car) before midday. Parking is free but not allotted by the side of the beach. Lots of rocks ,the sand is not really fine, but the water is surprisingly quite clear. Lots of food vendors, selling fried food as well as drinks. Beach balls/ floats as well as kite can be easily be brought here.
We didn't manage to locate the toilet or shower area. Hence, we didn't stay very long. There is a KFC nearby, hence, if you are eating there, you may be able to use their toilet facility.
Tip: Bring a beach mat as well as lots of sunscreen. Best time to come would be evening.

Pro Diver`s World

Reviewed By Kim M - Vancouver

We were a group of non-divers, certified divers and divers taking their certification. The Pro Diver's World next to the Coral View Resort on Pulau Pertentian Besar was an excellent choice for us. They could easily accommodate our group and provided the confined water dives right on the beach just in front of the dive shop. This was great since the divers could walk over when they were going out or attending a session and didn't need to commit to being away from the resort the entire day. This was much more relaxed and a marked contrast to when one of our daughters had taken her certification in Thailand and was picked up at 7 am and didn't return until 6 pm. The divers could easily meet up with the snorkellers for lunch, usually just down the beach at Mama's. This is the only dive shop on Besar that is based on Besar and does all their diving from here. No long boat rides to get to the dive sites!
Stan was an excellent instructor and went out of his way to help on of the divers who was having trouble with her ears. He spent extra time with her one on one to help her. Karl provided us with lots of great information, booked at taxi for us for the trip from Kuala Besut back to the airport at KB so we avoided the taxi frenzy when the boat arrived at the pier. Luckily we were also able to contact Karl to find an mail back an iPhone forgotten at the resort. Thanks again Karl.

Alu Alu Divers

In did my SSI open water @ Alu Alu divers. My experience was very good. All the instructors were well experienced and technically proficient. A little problem to understand the British accent of my instructor :) but that is fine. All the elements of the course were properly conducted. (book, video, swim test, float test, written test and 4 dives)
Scope to improve the coordination between diving instructors/staff and lodge management, though it is not a big issue. It would help us plan the booking well. Please ask for schedule first and ten make flight bookings.

These really are beautiful Islands. The Beaches are stunning, so peaceful. Snorkelling and swimming is the most energetic things we did for our 8 day break here. Worth the journey.
