The four of us (2 adults and 2 almost nine yr olds) very much enjoyed this museum. Young man ( Spanish and French speaking curator) gave excellent information. Beautiful house.

The trip was part of the social programs of the conference. The site is nice, quaint, well kept and instructive. Visiting the decades old Skanderbeg Museum you can learn a lot about country’s feudal times and about the local icon ruler of the 15th century. Continue with the ethnographic museum, which is basically a house of the ottoman general ruling the fortress. Very instructive too. End the trip with a meal at one of the nice restaurants onsite.

Museum outlining the early history of Albania and the national hero Skanderberg. The displays have English captions and information. It is at the top of the hill beside the castle.

The Old Bazaar in Kruje is apparently the best place in Albania to buy souvenirs. Sadly, most of the items sold in the many small stores that line Albanopolis Street are cheaply made and quite tacky (who really needs a coffee mug with a picture of Enver Hoxha on it!). Sadly, most of the items look like they were made in China and at least 80% of the items in each store are available everywhere. There is parking in central Kruje and it's very easy to find the market as you walk up towards the castle.

A relaxing site with fresh air, crystal water and full of green nuances. It has been single source of drinkable water of Albanian royal family.

Amazing souvenir shop, all handmade crafts like olive wood products made in Kruja, folk-traditional clothes for woman and mans, silver and filigree made in Albania. Also wool socks made by the amazing artisans of Kruja's Shop.
The prices were cheaper than other shops and you can also buy online at their website which is unique
